Clean room with close parking

Stayed 2 nights. I liked the location on Whyte Ave: close to good coffee and breakfast spots. Also close to a few bars. Some people that stayed in the hotel were on Whyte to party, so sleep may be interrupted. Used gym equipment during the rainy part of the day. It was clean and seemed little-used, The front desk personnel were wonderful both checking in and out. The hotel is fortunate to have them!

Poor property, not four star hotel

Clean room,great area. Pet friendly. Complimentary parking. Easy check in. The only negative is that the only ice machine you have to go to the 2nd floor and in the fitness room. That was a little weird.

Had a great stay, room was comfortable and the location was great.

The room was clean and well-kept, which we appreciated. However, the rooms are not very soundproof. White Avenue is a busy area with a lot of nightlife, so it was difficult to get a good night’s sleep because of the noise outside. The window also didn’t fully close, which seemed to let in even more street noise. That said, if you’re looking to be in the heart of the action and within walking distance of the bars, clubs, and restaurants on White Avenue, this hotel is in a great location. Just be aware that the convenience comes with a higher noise level.

Really nice room, everything you need was there. Great location! There is underground/ covered parking which was great but the process to get access was a little time consuming. Not the end of the world though. Great pizza spot inside the hotel!

Wonderful, comfy time. Thank you for keeping us safe as the storm came though! We will be back!

AC not working was pretty stuffy. Only stayed the one night great location worked for show we went too.

Staff are nice.

I liked how they got me extra cream for my coffee because I use more than the expected allotment.

The only improvement needed is a more expediant way onto the proberty from the parking garage. Up two flights and then down two flights with luggage from parking area is not doable.

The Varscona is a tasteful, beautiful hotel. Excellent service and fantastic location.

Dont like this place

Excellent and comfortable room with free parking in the heart of Whyte Avenue, close to university and the river valley! A great stay

The staff was very nice and the location was very convenient but the hotel is a bit dated and the walls are very very thin. We were woken up in the morning by our neighbour moving around in his room and fell asleep listening to him snore. At times it even sounded like they were in the same room as us.

It was wonderful stay.

The hotel is very clean and had an update about a year ago and you can tell! I really appreciate the vinyl floors and the duvet cover. Nice to know it is changed daily. Thank you if I ever have occasion to stay again this will be my number 1 choice! Thanks
