Just loved it

The hotel is a little old and needs a little updating but the staff was amazing and always willing to help. The head waiter in the restaurant was awesome as well.

Big comfortable room with kitchenette and table and chairs. Staff were all extremely helpful. Easy to catch a bus into the city centre. All at a reasonable price

The best thing about the Hotel Charles is the Bus stop Meszaros Utca which is right in front of the Hotel coming from downtown. Going to downtown, bus stop Meszaros utca is right across the street from the Hotel. Breakfast was great, room is huge and very spacious. We loved the little kitchen area. However it is a very old Hotel, but is is well maintained, If you are looking for space, this is for you., If you are looking for grand and modern, this is not for you. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there, and we also used their laundry facilities which was a plus.

The three room studio was spacious and good enough for our stay. The front desk staff was attentive and helpful, and tried hard to give us information about the hotel and amenities. The room, however, is old and lacking a few essential elements. There were only a few working electrical outlets, so we had to unplug the bedside lamps to charge our phones and plug in the kettle. The kitchen had no outlets, so you couldn’t plug anything in there. Overall, the spaciousness was nice but the hotel is old and shows a lot of west and tear.

A prime abord, on s'aperçoit que l'appartement est figée dans le temps (année50-60). Aucune rénovation, peinture, et division incompréhensible. Portes et murs inutiles. La coutellerie étais toute dépareillé et batterie de cuisine vieillie. Cuisine de 135X135cm. Douche dans un bain connecté au lavabo!!! Matelas à changé car accotté sur le sommier. Par contre, la propreté étais au rendez-vous. De plus, le service est exceptionnel en particulier l'homme qui nous a accuelli le jour de notre arrivée le 09 Octobre (nous n'avons pas noté son nom). Extrêmement bruyant si on laisse la fenêtre ouverte.

The front desk staff are amazing. The transportation arrangement the hotel books for guest is also great. The only reason for low rating was the beds were not made everyday. when you are on vacation that is one of the perks you look for. Also the sheets were coming off the mattress showing that the mattress was badly stained. It makes it hard to sleep on as you feel unhygienic. Bus stop is right across the street.

Good cleaning service Restaurant had dishes unavailable, which was disappointing. Also was closed during the first week.

Very good value for money! We had a lovely room with a view. It’s really close to an Aldi, which is very convenient. Good public transport near. Great budget hotel. Only “bad” things were: - the pillows were really big. We couldn’t sleep on them and just used cushions - a little bit old fashioned decor and furniture - Wi-Fi was a tad slow (not as fast as 4G) Overall, a great stay - very reasonable price. Staff were fantastic.

Room was clean. Cleaned every day while we were out. Small bottles of shower gel and a soap bar were provided in the room. Minibar was well stocked and prices were very reasonable. Only downsides were check-in being a very laborious process and my hotels.com status benefits weren’t honoured by the hotel but other than that it was great. The bus from across the hotel takes you straight into the city centre and taxis are easy and cheap.

Nice and clean, very close to train station, shops and eateries.
