We stayed at Duval Gardens Guesthouses. While the room and over-all resort was nice and the staff were friendly and responsive, we were underwhelmed with our stay for the price for a few reasons.
Duval Gardens was located about 10 min walk inland from the rest of the resort, to include the breakfast included in our stay, the beach, main pools, restaurants/bars, etc. which was not clear in the booking and was disappointing as we paid for a resort for the convenience. Additionally, there were small bugs on the bathroom counter the entire stay, and two roaches on our last day. The area of beach access was also covered in mounds seaweed and not raked, so it is not the most ideal for swimming.
Some positive features were a small private pool at the Duval Gardens, the room was relatively quiet, and was accessible to restaurants and shops. We also enjoyed the bar when we were at the beach.
