Subject: Formal Complaint – Unacceptable Hotel Experience & Request for Refund Dear Expedia Customer Relations, I am writing to formally express my extreme disappointment with a recent hotel stay booked through Expedia. Having used Expedia for many years for my travel arrangements, this was easily one of the most unacceptable hotel experiences my family and I have encountered. For one full day and an entire night, the air conditioning in our room did not work, with the room temperature remaining above 84°F. What made the situation even more frustrating was the complete lack of urgency from the hotel. Despite repeatedly requesting assistance, no one came to check on us or properly address the issue. This was not a minor inconvenience. I had family visiting from England, and this trip was supposed to be an enjoyable experience together. Instead, we spent an entire day and night in an unbearably hot room. It was an absolute nightmare and significantly affected our stay in Montreal. Prior to checking out, I personally met with the hotel's Guest Director and explained what had happened. After discussing the situation, I was informed that the hotel would provide a full refund for one of the rooms. I was also told that they would follow up with us regarding the refund. We have still not heard back from them. I am therefore requesting Expedia's immediate assistance in following up with the hotel and ensuring that the promised full refund for one room is processed without delay.

I loved my stay at Place d'Armes. The stay was very kind an helpful when I had to rebook last minute due to a flight cancellation. Much appreciated. The hotel is well cared for and lovely. Perfect walkable location too.

It’s exactly where you want to be. But be aware that “Place D’armes” is also the name of a street and a park, so use MAPS specifically!

Excellent customer service, excellent staff, excellent location.

Room was not ready at 4 pm for check in. Sadly there was no attempt to make us comfortable while we waited like offering a drink or a table to wait at just super uncomfortable seats in the lobby. The room itself was a maze of a walk to find in the fourth building. Our room was comfortable but right beside the elevator which you could hear going up and down. The bed was lovely as was the shower. The staff we encountered were friendly.

I loved the historic charm of the property and the location. My corner room was modern, yet elegant, and well appointed for a three night stay. The restaurant and the rooftop bar offered great options for dining and relaxing. This hotel will be at the top of my list for my next trip to Montreal.

The Hotel was Great and in a very walkable/busy part of town. The trade off was a ton of street noise late into the night. But the noise wouldn’t be enough to keep me from booking there in the future.

Fabulous hotel. Perfect location. Excellent service. Walk to the room was a bit too far - way at the far end building 4.

I found it strange that there was no kettle and tea provided in the room. Nespresso machine was nice but I like a tea option as well. Bathroom toiletries were lovely.

I highly recommend this hotel. The staff were very friendly and always willing to help. Its location is centrally located for dining,sightseeing and shopping. Also the hotel is one and a half blocks from the metro station.
