A little bit of a mix up on my reservation, however, Pedro went above and beyond to help sort it out. The hotel is amazing!

This is my second stay at this hotel and I continue to love the quality of the service and rooms. I selected a larger room and it was so nice to hang out in. The location of the hotel is perfect - right off Camino trail. The breakfast very good and had lots to offer.

The reception was very nice and very helpful for us (we don’t speak Portuguese). Clean hotel and delicious breakfast.

Fantastic hotel built in the 1510 mansion. Giant stone block walls and beautiful exotic wood floors. It is a fantastic hotel.

Terrible attitude of the check in man.

The staff so kind and informative. Great location by train station & funicular. Restaurant& bar just on the first floor. Breakfast good. I liked how the rooms were authenticly staged.

Very friendly staff, clean room, and relatively comfortable bed (for a European hotel). The views from the room were really nice, and location was great. The off-site parking was a little challenging.

The electricity was not working in the first room. We were upgraded to a bigger room but here the air conditioning was ineffective. It was at the time of year (mid-April) when the system needed changing from heating to cooling. This change had not yet been effected. The staff were helpful and offered us an electric fan. The curtains were hung badly - not what you expect in a 4* hotel. However, overall we enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful

I booked one of the top tier accommodation in this “hotel” - the Prestige Apartment- for a comfortable and upscale 4 night stay and what a got was the opposite - an awful nightmare. The hotel has an amazing location in the city of Viana but the positives end here. My room was located in an adjacent building and it was a run down apartment as far as it can be from a “prestige apartment” with worn out tacky furniture and no internet service. I had to work remotely during my stay so I told the reception employee, Sr Rui Braga, about the internet issue and night after night I was unable to work because there was no internet at all in my room or very weak and inconsistent internet. So for the first 2 nights I ended sitting in the hotel lobby, that was empty like most rooms in the hotel, and worked until late using the WiFi available in that area. In the third night I was to tired to argue and request them to fix this issue that I just didn’t work and in the next morning, I decided to leave and spend my final night in another hotel that could provide decent internet service. I left early in the morning and no one was available to check me out, so I left my information and later got an email letting me know that I would have to pay for the last night (the fourth night) since my reservation was no refundable. What?! I didn’t leave because I wanted to, I left because the hotel is a dump that can’t even provide basic internet to guests. I had no choice.

This is a wonderful hotel in a historic building. The hotel has a beer garden and a pool, and is walking distance from many dining options. The staff was friendly and helpful. I wish we had more time there!

This is such a beautiful hotel but what made it so great was definitely the excellent customer service from Rui and the team.They went above and beyond and it really does make a difference. I stayed the next night at another hotel the next town over and it really wasn't the same at all. I highly recommend this hotel and a service it provided.
