The property is beautiful and very romantic feel! The area around the hotel is a small village/town full of shops, cafes and walkable distance. Beautiful town and gorgeous hotel.

My stay at Parkhotel Engelsburg, BW Premier Collection, in Recklinghausen was thoroughly enjoyable. Although the hotel is listed as being close to Gelsenkirchen, it's actually about a 20-minute drive out. Despite this, Recklinghausen itself has much to offer and is wonderfully walkable, with plenty to explore and enjoy. The hotel itself exudes elegance and charm. Our room was impressively spacious, featuring a firm king bed and a bathroom that was spotless and well-maintained. The cleanliness and comfort of the rooms made our stay very pleasant. The staff at Parkhotel Engelsburg were incredibly helpful and attentive, always ready to assist with any needs we had. While there was a bit of noise one evening from patrons returning late, this was likely due to the influx of guests attending the EURO 2024 Football Tournament, and not a regular occurrence. The hotel’s restaurant provided a delightful dining experience, though room service options were somewhat limited. However, this did not detract from the overall quality of our stay. The elegance of Parkhotel Engelsburg is matched by its pricing, offering a luxurious experience that feels worth the cost. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area. The combination of spacious rooms, excellent service, and the charming surroundings of Recklinghausen made for a memorable stay.

We stayed during the time of light up show in the city in October. A big entertainment was held in front of the hotel.

Stayed here for the weekend whilst here on business. The hotel was easy enough to find and is located near some restaurants and bars which came in handy as there was a wedding happening one evening which meant the hotel restaurant was closed to the public. I used the hotel gym. I don’t expect too much from hotel gyms and this was no different. It was a small room with no air-con. There was 1 treadmill, 1 cross trainer and 1 bike. Weights wise there were a few light free-weights, an old school cable machine, chest press, leg extensions and something else... The rooms were clean but I wouldn’t open your windows unless you want to wake up with lots of flies in your room. There was also no air-con in the room which I incorrectly assumed would be standard in a 4* hotel. It was unfortunate timing to incorrectly assume this as it was 30C when I was staying there, but they did provide a fan... Unfortunately no free onsite parking but they do offer discount if you park your car in the nearby multi-storey car park. All in all everything else was fine and up to a good standard.

Just a beautiful clean place to stay, food in the restaurant is excellent.

Superb hotel! Very well located with easy access to pedestrian shopping and dining area. Room was large and beds were comfortable (our “king” bed being made of 2 singles together). Breakfast was lovely, with lots of choices (eggs and bacon, to fruits and cereal). Would highly recommend.

On return of our holiday in Corsica we stopped in this hotel. Excellent rooms and we had a wonderfull diner in the nice restaurant. Lots of atmosphere!

Everything needed is in place

Excellent hotel. Staff is very good. The facilities are excellent. Parking is the only issue with only a limited amount of parking at the hotel, if there is no space, you must use an adjacent parking garage. Beware, it is a cash only garage

The hotel is located only a few steps from the old city. The staff is really excellent, very helpful and attentive. The restaurant is also very good serving traditional cuisine with a contemporary touch. The rooms are very good, comfortable beds and very clean . The bathrooms could be a bit larger. It is a great hotel to stay in Recklinghausen and the area.

We were so thrilled to disciver this historic property and town. The service and amenities were par excellence. if you are in the region it is more than a room to sleep in, it is a great experience with penultimate service. The city of Recklinghausen is wonderful. Just stroll around to great shopping and restaurants.

The Parkhotel Engelsburg is a very nice traditional hotel in the center of the old city, right at the start of the pedestrian zone. There are a few parking spaces on the premesis and a larger parking structure right across from the hotel. The staff is very friendly and attentive, the restaurant is excellent, and the breakfast buffet very comprehensive. The room was very nice with a large bathroom and Internet was free of charge. I can definitely recommend this hotel for a stay in Recklinghausen and vicinity.

We stayed here whilst visiting friends in Herten. The hotel rooms were spacious, and had every thing we needed, clean and quiet. Staff were friendly and always available. It is also next door to the brewery which is a fun place to meet up with friends. Parking is limited at the hotel (6-7 spaces) but there is a multi-storey care park opposite.

Was the most perfect hotel in Recklinghausen!!
