The Scandic Hamar is a very clean hotel and they offer a good breakfast buffet. The beds were comfortable and the rooms well appointed. What was not so good was the staff and their attitude toward guests. They were not friendly, did not smile or offer a welcoming word. In most interactions, they seemed almost annoyed to be bothered by have to check in guests, answer questions or service the breakfast buffet. I could chalk this up to the standoff-ish Norwegian personality, but even so, they should think about how they treat guests from outside Norway.

the location is great near shopping centre and walkable to the main town by the waterside. staff are friendly and helpful. breakfast was excellent too. downside was room lacks of basic facilities like kettle and no telephone to contact reception if you need something. also no free park on site but was easy enough to park and pay. good for an overnight stay.

Very expensive bar price. 156 nok for a 33cl beer ! Top b/fast.

Hotel is quite new and always very clean. Staff is amazing and very polite. Just a couple of things I faced: 1. The rooms are tiny and have little to no amenities (not even a phone to call reception) and 2.The front desk person didn't want to exchange USD for local currency with no reasonable explanation. This was very inconvenient and disappointing.

Lovely stay! Missed having a fridge & a safe in the room. No tea & coffee in the room only in reception area but have had these in previous Scandic hotels. Room very clean & breakfast good.

great breakfast

Stayed for one night for work. Hotel needs a bit of a tidying up. It felt tired and not the usual standard of other scandic hotels. Good sleep, breakfast OK. Didn’t spoil my stay but wouldn’t rush back.

Staff was great! Breakfast and dinner buffet was fabulous! Rooms were clean and comfortable!

Hotellet er rent og pent og har en god atmosfære. Sengen var overraskende myk og god og såpene fra Stockholm likte jeg godt. Nydelig presentert frokost!

The a/c in the room wasn’t working and the window would only open a couple of inches… so we roasted the entire night. When we complained they said the only thing they could do was loan us a fan. The fan did nothing to cool the room down!

Det var veldig mye bråk til rundt kl 01. Det var litt harde senger og dusjen var ikke helt ren, spesielt dusjhodene. Frokosten var ikke spesielt bra, dårlig utvalg og dårlig tilpasset for matallergi.

Dusj uten kabinettdør som gjorde at det ble vann over hele gulvet og over toalettet. Måtte bruke sko på badet og alle håndduker til å vaske gulv og toalett. Dusjsluket var løst. Ikke mulig å få låne hotellparaply.

God service, god frokost, veldig fint sted. Dessverre opplevde vi svært mye støy fra 22.30 frem til klokken 02. Høy musikk og drusing av motor utenfor rommet. Vi bodde i 4.etasje og hadde lukkete vinduer ut mot veien. Det var dessverre veldig ødeleggende for opplevelsen.

Overnattet i forbindelse med fotballcup. Godt belegg på hotellet på grunn av denne turneringen, noe vanskelig med parkering. Gode senger, badet kunne hatt bedre renhold. God frokostbuffe. Alt i alt et godt og hyggelig opphold.

Bra mat, greit rom

Ville vært et pluss om hotellet hadde gratis kaffe til hotellgjestene. Eller i det minste vannkoker på rommet.. Kaffen i kiosken fra automat er overpriset og smaker ikke godt…

Var litt for varmt på rommet, men ble justert fra resepsjonen
