Dated property which could use upgrades in bathroom, plugs and USB ports near the bed, otherwise comfortable and convenient.

Great location, quaint, clean, had everything we needed.

Staff was very responsive to our requests. Rooms were a little outdated but very comfortable and spacious. Bathroom was clean with plenty of amenities. Easy walk to ding and shops. Front office had coffee, cookies, and snacks.

All hotels are expensive in Carmel. Most offer an in room meagre “breakfast” but the wayside offers nothing - except coffee and cookies or fruit in reception. The complimentary reusable water bottles are a nice touch and tick the eco box - just a shame they come covered in plastic! Well located for the price

Charming and conveniently located Inn in the heart of downtown Carmel-by-the Sea. Easy, walkable location. Quite sufficient for our girls' trip. Loved drinking coffee on the little patio, covered in flowering plants.

Great place to stay! Close to all shopping and restaurants. Room was exceptionally clean. The couch in our room was dated but that didn't bother us. They do not have a continental breakfast. Nice man checked us in as well. We will be back!

The lower deluxe double queen felt like we were underground not a lot of light and can hear people going up and down the stairs but it was clean and quiet overall

Great location

We ended up in a stuff room with old carpets and furniture. It needed to be aired out multiple times a day. The shower had poor pressure and the bathroom sink knobs were very difficult to turn. Heating the room was a constant issue as it would make the CO2 alarm sound.

This was the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed at!! I loved that it had a stove and full size refrigerator. Also loved the fireplace!

This is a great hotel. Beautiful rooms. Lovely lobby with friendly staff. Our first time here but definitely not the last.
