Elevator was broken and will not be fixed for another week or so. The hotel’s staff tried their best to minimize the impact of no elevators but it wasn’t enough for my wife who has difficulty walking.

Nice place to stay, in a nice walking area. Historic hotel and they have kept the charm.

Staff were great. Property is beautiful. Should let guests know that elevators are still not operating before booking. While we are young enough to walk four flights of stairs up and down every time we’ve left the room, it’s a huge struggle for many. Please fix the elevators or at least let people know ahead of time that the only option is waiting for a “vintage” ride in a service elevator.

A charming old-world hotel- quiet, in a nice setting in the woods and near a gold resort. Quick 5 min. drive to the downtown. Lots to do.

I didn’t think it was possible for this hotel to get any worse since last year, but they managed to accomplish it! Last year, only one elevator was working, this year neither is working, just in time for racing season, unbelievable!

I really enjoyed the history of the building. The grounds were immaculate. I read reviews that stated the hotel was somewhat dated, but that was the charm!

Great ambiance, good morning coffee, NO liquid soap in shower it was not re filled. Elders had a hard time getting back from concert many got lost. No one to guide elders who walked all around. They added a amenity charge of 32.00 and I was not told about it and we did not use the pool so it was unexpected as a unknown up charge.

Beautiful historic building. Our room was on the fifth floor. Elevator has been broken for a while. Had to take the staff cage elevator to the fourth floor. Then lug our luggage to the fifth floor to our room. We are in our sixties. Guests had to call the front desk every time you needed to use it so they could pull some poor staff person to run it. Loved that it was next to SPAC. Breakfast was good in the restaurant. We couldn't get a reservation before our concert for dinner the night before. Gorgeous grounds. Staff was outstanding. It was over six hundred for a one night stay. I expected more I guess for that price. Our room was clean except for the trash in the waste basket. Loved the history of the hotel. We did not partake of any of the spa treatments offered. The bed was very comfortable.

Easy to find a parking space and excellent sidewalks to walk up to the hotel. However, my room was not ready. The restaurant did not open for food until 5 PM. We needed to relax and have a meal so thankfully there was a bar near the pool that served food. This worked out we did have difficulty coming from the SPAC at night. The path back to the hotel was not obvious thankfully there was police officers that was able to point out and get us on the right way. The staff that did help us was wonderful and polite. The room did lack towels only had hand towels. We did not discover that until we had slept into 10 AM and checkout was 11 AM. We did not have time to ask for extra towels. Overall, the landscape was a five star and absolutely wonderful for all the care the landscapers do!

We went to SPAC to see Rod Stewart. The hotel is VERY convenient! It’s a 10 min walk. You can park the car at the hotel and be free … no traffic hassles. We received an email the day before our stay, stating due to renovation work, the main elevator would be out of service. But not to worry because there was the historic service elevator for guest use and a staff member would assist us. That was fine, however, it only went to the 4th floor and we were on the 5th floor, which meant we had a flight of stairs to walk up and down in order to use the elevator. For us, it was doable; but we heard a lot of complaining! The 5th floor, apparently, used to be the attic. It was a bit hot, but the air conditioning worked well. The king size bed was cozy. It’s too bad the couldn’t move it towards the door a bit more … the way the roof slanted, you had to be careful not to bump your head when getting up. There was barely enough room to walk between the bed and wall. I climbed in and out of the bed by the foot … but that, too, may have been difficult for some guests

Beautiful historic hotel. The free shuttle is worth the stay though the history, beautiful rooms, and grounds are close second. Only quirk is the elevator situation.. unfortunately the main elevators are out of service so you have to take the old service elevator to your floor. It's a cool old elevator but for some people it was a bit of problem (older people, lots of luggage, if you are on the 5th floor you get off on the 4th floor and take the stairs up to the 5th).
