The bathroom wasn’t the cleanest.
The water in the foyer was hardly ever replenished
The swimming pool and gym were an extra cost to use

It's not the best example of a four star hotel. I wouldn't give it that rating - maybe a good 3 star. It's not very fancy. The layout is rubbish. I had to walk through the leisure centre to get to my first floor room. I don't know why the stairs were so far away from reception. Odd. The bed gave a comfortable sleep. The room was a bit noisy because it was near a connecting door but apart from that, it was a good size. The shower and the toiletries were fine. You could tell that the hotel was a bit dated but the decor was fine. We were having poor weather for May, so I appreciated the radiator being on. The breakfast was a reasonable standard. It had some local produce which was nice to see - Shropshire tea and Ludlow preserves. I appreciated the healthy options like porridge "toppings" even though there was no actual porridge (at least, if there was I didn't see it and I didn't ask!). The staff were a little bit "casual" but friendly enough. I mean, it was one of those situations where they were busy talking and interacting with each other and not paying me much attention as a customer. I thought paying for parking was a bit of a surprise but in the end the charge worked out OK for the length of my stay.

Great location for the international arena, hotel was well maintained and clean although the room was a bit cold and the hot water in the bath/shower was scalding or freezing and the hand basin didn’t get hot. Staff were very pleasant and the breakfast was great, I would recommend.

A reasonably nice hotel. Book well ahead as it fills up really fast when something is on and the price doubles. Breakfast is over priced and varies in price depending on whether you book it the night before or on the same day. Which is odd.

Everything was as it should be clean room friendly staff close to shops
Only issue was breakfast
They had a big group of a lacrosse team and staff one part of the brekfast area was reserved for the lacrosse team so seating was a issue
We ended up seated in the bar erea due to no seats and was told other area was reserved for the team
Cups had run out and was given take away cup instead
And milk
Was dissatisfaction with breakfast with a few people that could not find seating
If there was not going to be enough seating for everyone then i think breakfast should be staggered so all guests can be seated

The lift was out of use which was not ideal. My guest struggles to walk after smashing her ankle last May and we were on the top floor. The receptionist did move us to floor two but we arrived Friday and left Sunday - but the lift was still out of order.
The rooms were clean. And breakfast was good.

Typical city centre hotel, built for busiess travellers. The hotel looks a little tires and is in need of redecoration. There is a privaye gym/leisure centre wihin the hotel, that menat that there was a lot of fottfall in that area, which wasn't idea; when trying to get to your room, and there wasa big smell of cholrine and sweat. Breakfast was not included, but I was happy to pay extra, and was good value and tasty. Whatr was not impressive was the surly attitude of a male member of staff who seemed more interested in gossiping with his colleagues than providing a poite service to guests.

You have to pay £10 per person per day to use any of the pool facilities (this was not clear until after check in)
You also have to pay £10 to park per day (again not clear until checked in)
The lady covering reception upon my arrival was quite abrupt

The room was to a good standard, clean and with decent supplies. Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast had a good variety to choose from. Two negatives were the lift being out of order all weekend and the fact that we now have to pay to use the leisure facilities, a factor that will make us book elsewhere in the future.

This one night stay was so that my wife and I could take our grandson to the hotel where he is staying for 5 nights as he’s on an apprenticeship training course near Telford. Pleasantly surprised with its location just off the M54 the property is modern and is in very good condition. I booked through Hotels.com and paid £81.00 including a very good breakfast for both of us. I understand there is a swimming pool and sauna and possibly a gym (not used) Staff were very polite and helpful and for the money paid you simply cannot complain and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a cheaper priced hotel.
