Had a wonderful staff and as a coeliac they even prepared afternoon tea at short notice which was delightful. Once again was not let down in the evening with a Gluten Free menu and had a wonderful meal. My only criticism was at Breakfast no Gluten Free menu and the waitress was no very helpful just kept trying to push the avocado onto me as gluten free but I'm not a fan of avocado and felt like I wasn't a priority on my dietary needs so ended up with just fruit salad full of apple and yogurt and toast that was cold and tough. Otherwise our stay was perfect

The castle was a true castle and maintained well. The staff is every area we’re kind and friendly. This is a very nice place to enjoy adult only accommodations and my wife and I would stay here again if ever in the area. Food was also top quality and served as if you were at a 5 star restaurant.

We had a wonderful stay. The staff was amazing. They bent over backwards to try to help are stay be the perfect experience. The food was great. The castle is truly an amazing place to stay. The grounds were immaculate as well. I want to mention one of the staff, Kayla by name, for her superb customer service and help. Everyone there showed how much they valued their guests. We would highly recommend Thornbury Castle to anyone who wants a very memorable stay.

Perfect place to stay, clean

Highly recommend but no al a carte menu offered. Just 3 courses at £75 or a taster menu for £95.

This place is a hidden gem, we had the most amazing time and everyone was so friendly and kind, the bed was so comfortable it helped us with the jet lag, it was also fantastic that the room had a fan as we are use to sleeping with one at home. Breakfast and dinner were out of this world and we arrived 30 mins late to breakfast and they said no trouble and sat us immediately. We cannot wait to return and it was the perfect start to our anniversary trip!

The bed was uncomfortable and the pillows so weak they really could have been nonexistent. The bathroom was nice and clean but the toilet had to be flushed a few times before it worked properly. The staff answered most of the questions we asked but offered nothing unless asked. Charlotte and Leann (servers at bar) need to find different work or take a course on customer service. It would have been nice to see a manager once in a three night stay. We never had dinner because it was just crazy expensive. We had breakfast three times which was very good. At check out they did not apply our Expedia credit. We e-mailed them after and credit was given. Would not recommend and will not be returning.

Great stay, lovely peaceful location. Evening meal was fantastic!

Loved it from start to finish i really want to bring the kids to do some of ths activities and make a weekend out of it. Room was beautiful.

We booked two rooms for a special occasion - we were allocated the Anne Boleyn and our daughter’s had the Audley rooms, both overlooking St Mary’s Church where we got married. The staff were all very friendly and attentive, dinner in the library was fabulous and breakfast was perfect. We even had good weather. Will definitely stay again

Nice hostorical castle

Lovely hotel set in stunning surroundings. The room was spotlessly cleaned daily, great attention from the housekeeping staff. As you should expect with it being a castle the sound insulation is not as per a purpose built hotel so we could hear conversations, music, tv etc from the people in the room above. The food at the hotel is plentiful and of good quality but perhaps limited in choice for the dinner menu.

Castle bedroom you know love you want to get real with women

Everything was just perfect! My husband and I enjoyed every minute celebrating his milestone birthday. The hotel exceeded our expectations. When we arrived, we were happy to hear that we got a free upgrade to a castle suite. We stayed in Catherine Howard room which was huge, had a four poster bed and a rolled bath. There were lots of complimentary things such as sloe gin, all sorts of teas and coffees, cosmetics in the bathroom, room slippers. The gardens were pretty and well maintained. Great to see a working water fountain too. The breakfast was delicious and all the staff were very attentive.

The room was in excellent condition and the ambiance perfectly
