Absolutely beautiful and peaceful resort! The surroundings are serene and relaxing, perfect for a restful getaway. What truly sets this place apart is the incredible staff—so warm, welcoming, and attentive. They made our stay unforgettable. Highly recommend!

Beautiful resort , more of an island vibe , northern part of the island so further away from a lot of the hustle and bustle but closer to secret beach . BRING BUG SPRAY ! they will get you lol although they do provide that as well

I think the service could be better

This resort is incredible!! My husband and I travel around the world and rarely stay at the same place twice. This was our first time here, and we will definitely come back! The staff went above and beyond in every interaction to make our stay the most memorable, including keeping the kitchen open an extra hour one night to accommodate our schedule getting back to the resort. I’m a big foodie, and the food and drinks are excellent - super fresh ingredients and high-quality preparations. We went to a few restaurants around the island (which were the highest rated), and the meals at Matachica far outshined those. The property is beautiful and a pleasure to relax at. The individual casitas give a feeling of remoteness - while still having 5 star amenities. We were there during the windy/seaweed season, and the resort organized other activities to seaweed-free beaches, including a boat ride to Caye Caulker and a car ride to Secret Beach. What a wonderful addition and great way to explore other areas! (I would also highly recommend renting a golf cart to explore on your own.) I would highly recommend this resort to anyone traveling to Ambergris Caye!!

We had a wonderful time. Everyone was so nice. Great food and activities.

Prior to arriving the staff was very helpful with scheduling the local flights and supplying information on excursions and meal options. Upon arrival everything was easy and well organized. The pick up, boat ride and check in were all seamless. I would highly recommend for those looking for a quiet place to relax. The seaweed was a problem but they were providing a free shuttle to the opposite side of the island to get away from it.

The staff was outstanding, very attentive but not overbearing. Food was very tasty and we ended up eating within the hotel for most meals.

Matachica Resort and Spa was absolutely amazing. Clearly a 5 Star resort. Situated 5 miles north of San Pedro kept us out of the crowds. The Seabreeze Room was exquisite. Delicious coffee was delivered each morning to our deck to enjoy the sunrise. Meals at the Bistro restaurant were excellent and seafront dining for all meals was a special treat. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They expertly arranged several activities that we enjoyed including snorkeling at Mexico Rocks, Hol Chan and Shark Ray Alley. Simply amazing reef snorkeling. They also provided kayaks to paddle out to the reefs on your own for yet more quality snorkeling - nurse sharks and manta rays. Our stay was a bit on the spendy side but well worth the experience. Highly recommended,

Star Quality Service, luxury comfort, elevated dining - chef prepared, fully engaged staff in every area. Excursions designed to entice & enjoy. Special details attended to when celebrating a life event. The water is so clear & blue. Just perfect in every way 💕✨️ From the welcome drink at our arrival to the way we felt we were going to miss our new family at departure 🙏

Great Service and a place to just chill

We really enjoyed our time here. It was very relaxing and a beautiful resort. All of the staff was super nice and helpful. We would definitely go back and stay there again.

The staff were amazing. So kind and always willing to take the extra step for any sort of accommodation. The resort was also amazing in scheduling transportation. Everything is so clean and everyone was so friendly. The two excursions we booked were worth it. Charlie and Chris are wonderful!
