Really enjoyed the stay. Staff were great, room was very comfortable, food and service was wonderful. The only negative was that the water in the pool / jacuzzi was quite cold

The facilities at The Grove are lovely, but unfortunately that’s where the positives ended for me. On my first night, after eating a carpaccio at the Stables restaurant, I suffered from food poisoning. I reported this to the hotel, expecting at least some basic care or concern. Instead, I was largely ignored. To be clear - we spent the entire day at the Grove and all food consumed was from its restaurants. The carpaccio was the only thing that wasn't shared between my party, and therefore is obviously the culprit. No one checked in on me, no support was offered, and there was no sense of being looked after at all. The only response was what felt like a self serving “investigation”, which seemed far more about protecting the hotel than caring for a guest who had become ill on their premises. (Surprise surprise - the investigation concluded in the hotel being fault-less). It's now been 3 days and I am still waiting to hear from management, who are bizarrely uninterested. When something goes wrong, how a hotel responds matters just as much as the facilities themselves. In this case, the lack of empathy and care turned what could have been an unfortunate but manageable incident into a genuinely poor experience. Given the reputation and price point of The Grove, this was deeply disappointing.

We stayed at The Grove in December 2025 with our toddler and had a wonderful experience. The hotel felt magical at Christmas, beautifully decorated, warm and welcoming throughout. Our room was spacious, spotless, and well set up for a family stay, which made everything feel easy and relaxed. The staff were exceptional: genuinely friendly, attentive, and especially thoughtful with our little one. Dining was excellent, with great options and flexibility for families, and the grounds were stunning even in winter, perfect for walks. A truly luxurious but family-friendly hotel. We felt very well looked after and would absolutely return.

Have stayed many times at The Grove but it’s been on the decline for the last 12 months or so with this visit being very sub-par. Rooms weren’t serviced properly, activities for children were awful and the once fantastic Glass House buffet felt tired. Won’t be rushing back any time soon. Many people we encountered felt the same.

I booked with the intention of proposing to me lovely girlfriend. The reception arranged with my friends access to decorate the room whilst we were out to dinner. Staff were amazing, location was gorgeous and food option 10/10….. SHE SAID YES!!!! A perfect trip and over the moon I chose the Grove

We enjoyed our stay at The Grove. It’s unfortunate that most of their summer events & special dining experience are all in late July/august, so we didn’t get a chance to experience them. Loved the variety of activities & the stunning grounds. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. The hotel is a big events space and thus loses the charm of a country escape, and keeps a more corporate feel.

The main issue is that there is a lack of experienced staff. This is why they got so many thing's wrong for me.

Lovely spa weekend break. Staff amazing. Great amenities all well looked after. Beautiful grounds to walk in. Great choice of places to eat. Only minor concern was lack of marked parking spaces - some guests were thoughtless. Marked spaces would reduce this problem.

Amazing family hotel - wonderful food

The Grove doesn’t normally disappoint with service, golf, the spa and the food which tends to be on point. This time wasn’t any different but you can now see the popularity of The Grove by how the appearance is starting to show wear. The 2nd floor ceiling has terrible water damaged. In the spa the shower hooks were loose, a portion on the last right shower faucet had fallen to the floor. My spa therapist was a dream though. She made me feel exceptional in every way, mind + body, so thank you. The nature trail walk hasn't been improved. It leads to service entrances and a lack of interest or views. We dined at the Hot Air Ballon Pop Up. It was memorable. Skewd was delicious. They were wonderful at accommodating me as Im a celiac. Do I hope they update their property + rooms, yes. Would that prevent me or anyone from going back, no.
