**Title: A Hidden Gem in the Heart of the Old Town!** ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently stayed at this wonderfully restored old hotel on the edge of the old town, and I can't recommend it enough! The location is perfect, just a short walk from the train station, making it incredibly convenient for travelers. The manager, though short in stature, has a heart of gold! He goes above and beyond to assist guests from all walks of life, speaking multiple languages and ensuring everyone feels welcome. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, complete with modern bathrooms that add a touch of luxury to the stay. Plus, the free parking is a fantastic bonus! Breakfast is truly a feast, showcasing the finest German foods. Every morning felt like a delightful culinary experience. If you're looking for a charming place to stay with exceptional service and a rich history, this hotel is the perfect choice! ---

Very rude customer service. We were traveling from another country and arrived at the hotel before 21:00 (we got there at 20:01), which was the specified time when someone at the desk should have still been there. However, there was no one there to let us in. Another guest happened to pass by and let us in the building, which is where we found a sign that directed English-speakers to call a phone number. We called, and the agent only spoke German. We tried to communicate, but she hung up on me. I called back, and received no answer. So i tried another number there, and the same woman answered. Thankfully, the guest that let us inside spoke a little English and was German-speaking, and she helped translate so that we could receive our room key. If that other guest was not there, we would have been in a very bad situation, as the customer service agent was not helpful. I checked my email later and it had said, when I booked, that I should have received check-in instructions 48-hours in advance, but I looked thoroughly and had not. Nonetheless, the place was clean overall, but there was a bad stench coming from the bathroom. The breakfast in the morning was good. Also, while I did book through a 3rd party, it said this place had laundry, but it did not.

Worst service ever! They use an online system to make it supposedly easier for you to check in, but it's the worst. I traveled for 10 hours, came in the evening dead tired and I couldn't get in the hotel for half an hour. And before that I've wasted half an hour trying to figure out how to access their parking lot because of the road closure which they didn't mention and how to avoid it. I literally had to drive over the pavement to access the parking lot. At the end I've cancelled my reservation, I was literally standing in front of the hotel couldn't get in and nobody was there. Don't be cheap, pay the receptionist full time and have someone there to take the calls and welcome the guests. This could have been so much easier that way

Do not stay here! The reception agent was the most rude, scary and unstable person I have ever encountered in 40 years and 130 countries of travel. He was screaming at me, mostly because I don't speak German (no one working at the hotel spoke a word of English) but he even screamed at the woman behind me and she spoke German. He seemed very emotionally fragile and I was afraid he was going to become violent. I recommend staying anywhere else in this charming town. The hotel had sent me an email at 10am saying my room was ready. Yet when I arrived at 11am the reception clerk said the room would not be ready until 3pm. This was on Christmas Eve and it was obvious from no cars in the parking lot and no one visible in the hotel during my 3 days there that the hotel was practically empty. The rooms have paper thin walls and my bed was more like a cot so the place seemed much more like a hostel than a hotel. My room was supposed to have a city view yet my room looked out over an abandoned building, the railroad tracks and a parking lot. It's right next to the train station but there are charming hotels with character in the town center.

It was not a nice stay. Hard to understand what the guy in reception said (in both german and english). The room was very hot due to no air condition and when we opened the window there was no protection for moscitos. The hooks in the room and bathroom were falling off so you couldn’t hang the towels there. The breakfast was a disaster. Messy, not clean and a lot of things missing since they didn’t fill up when the ”pick from-plates” got empty. Very loud sounds from the trainstation, and thin walls and doors so we heard guests all night from both the corridors and rooms. We left after one night…
