The room was not available despite being online to confirm. No one picked up the phone when I called, and no one answered when Expedia called either.

Older hotel conveniently located but lacking in maintenance. Men’s lobby bathroom had soap dispenser laying broken on counter both days I was there. Our room had no bathroom products and we had to request them . Several nicer hotels around them which I recommend checking first.

I don't want to be unkind. The reception employees were doing their best to be helpful. The hotel was overbooked and our room was given to someone who arrived before us. They promised us a new room for the second day and it was no better than the first. We left and went to a different hotel across the street.

The property needs some love. The staff was lackluster and didn’t seem to care if anyone was there or not. The AC was poor. There is not an exhaust fan in the bathroom so there is mold growing in it. The desk was damage on the front. TV was missing as well.

It was just ok. It's got the vibe of an old hotel that they have done bare-minimum upgrades on. It's much darker and dingy than the photos let on. The bathrooms are like being in a motel. Although I didn't see anything visibly dirty, the ancient fixtures in the bathroom are off-putting. I booked (allegedly) for a 2 room suite. When I got there I was taken to a king rooom and when I explained that I had booked a suite, the front staff said rooms like that don't exist. I had to show him a picture to get him to believe me, then he acknowledged that that was the Hank Williams suite and it was occupied. So if you try to book the suite with the red couch on this site, you probably won't actually be getting that, unless maybe you call the hotel and confirm. Aside from that, the staff was nice, but I would look elsewhere if I had to be in that area again.

This place was cheap, but it should have been cheaper! Looks like it might have been nice 60-80 years ago. I thought I was in a backward Eastern European “hotel”. I mean I didn’t die or catch anything, but I was slightly concerned I might…

Old, dingy, musty smelling. First room had no cold water - shower scalding hot. Changed rooms and same problem. Would not stay again.

Previous review was incorrect. Got it confused with another stay at another hotel. Hotel is in bad condition. Rooms were tolerable. In 3 separate stays, 2 only had hot water and 1 only had cold water for showers. Front desk NEVER answers the phone. In 24 hours I called about 20 times with no answer and no ability to leave a message. I even sent a few emails with no responses. There was one very helpful staff member at the front desk after my first stay. Every staff member says something different. Parking is awful. Valet parking is pretty much it and they are understaffed so it takes a while to leave your car and pick it up. Breakfast was not good. Barely any options. Only 2 waffle makers and during one stay when the hotel was full, only 1 of the waffle makers was working. Lost a room momentarily at one stay and was given the wrong room at another. Not sure if the hotel is just understaffed or if the staff just doesn't care.

Very nice hotel. Only complaint is that breakfast wasn't served until 7:30. It was good though. Needed more creamer options for coffee.

My room was clean, comfortable, quiet. Staff were pleasant. Breakfast omelet was kind of fun. It became stuffy in the middle of the night which always wakes me up. It's also getting run down. The shower door handle is coming off, watermarks on the sink now seem permanent and the elevator flooring has been worn down.

I happened to be placed in an ADA compliant room and it was shocking how bad the conditions were. I don’t know about the regular rooms, but the number of issues in a room specifically meant for disabled people was merely unpleasant for me but dangerous for any future disabled guests. The first issue was more aesthetic, the paint on the window frames in the hallway and room was severely cracked and peeling. The bathroom was the biggest issue. The switch that controlled the mirror light and fan didn’t work. The lack of fan meant that any time the hot water from the sink or shower was running for more than a minute, the floor became incredibly slippery, a huge safety concern for a disabled person. On top of that, the constant humidity meant that nearly every metal surface was heavily rusted and I was concerned about mold. The water temperature was the number one problem. The sink had two handles but both of them produced scalding hot water all of the time. The shower had a dial handle and the comfortable temperature is usually somewhere in the middle. Not this shower. The water was either cold or scalding hot, no in between. I had to draw a bath. But then, the shampoo and body wash that are attached to the shower wall, are too high up to reach. Not an issue for an able-bodied person like me, but someone with mobility issues wouldn’t be able to get up and down repeatedly without potentially slipping. Overall, I was not satisfied and they need to make the room safe for ADA.

This property was dirty. My baby was crawling on the floor in the bedroom and her legs were covered with a black dirty substance. There was mold on the cileing and walls and near the air vents. We stayed one night and left the next day.

The Hampton Inn & Suites downtown Montgomery is a historic building that has not been very well maintained - a shame!. The common areas were unclean which could have been addressed with vacuuming, none of the ice machines on any floor worked. Our room was on the top floor and had poorly patched water damaged areas on the ceiling and the furniture was quite worn. Hot water was non-existent when we checked in and the following morning only at 6AM at 7AM it was warm at best. The waffle machine in breakfast area was out of service as were two of the juice choices. In short, very disappointed with our experience and will not return in the future.

Our room didn’t have air. Apparently the whole 5th floor doesn’t have air. We were not told this at check in and then when asked about it, I was told that they would have to make a phone call. They never called me back. I was finally able to get a refund and they set us up at another hotel. Not having air should be mentioned on their website.
