This hotel is a 4 starts hotel but the room are old and not maintained properly. Very old school hotel. Breakfast is very light with industrial food, but their coffe is excellent. The location is great.

The Hotel was okay but the bathroom showers were very disappointing, no consistant water temperature and showering in a pre made plastic cubical was not pleasant

The Valdarno Hotel is a hotel stuck in the 1970's when it was built and furnished. It needs a complete renovation to modernize. The rooms are also outdated. Beware of the heat. Even if you turn the thermostat lower, you will swelter in heat during the night. Service is mixed. Check-in and check-out are quick. The chambermaids clean well. However, breakfast is chaotic no matter what time you arrive from 7 am to 9 am. The owner's wife and her assistant run around like "chickens with their heads cut off" never completely satisfying all in terms of replenishing depleted food and beverages as well as personally provided hot beverages to guests. As with many things in Italy, the simple things take on a complicated life. Why not allow guests to serve their own tea as most hotels do. And why do we have to wait for you to fill the water pitchers or juice containers. Why not leave multiple bottles for us to serve ourselves? I could go on. Breakfast is not pleasant for service as well as the mediocre offerings. Luckily, I brought my own oatmeal to eat. The primary positive about the Valdarno Hotel is the location convenient to downtown Montevarchi as well as the highway. Would I stay here again? No. Would I recommend it to others? No. Try the new hotel downtown Vassari which is modern. You don't have to worry about breakfast because you are given coupons to go to the nearby coffee bar to choose what you want and are served quickly without chaos.

The hotel was a bit older but well-maintained. The staff speaks English well enough to communicate. The breakfast was quite good. The bar was rather quiet but well stocked. The beds were firm. The bathrooms were modern and clean. The local area is a small town but there were restaurants and bars within walking distance. The rooms did not appear to have air conditioning but the windows open. There were no irons in the rooms and was unable to borrow one despite multiple attempts.

Lovely small hotel, only problem is there is no parking and the hotel is difficult to find initially. There is a car park 10 mins away that does not have 24 hrs access. Town is pleasantly not very touristy.

Hotel Valdarno is a great hotel if you are needing a place to stay. Price is reasonable, very clean and modern, great breakfast, comfortable bed, ample closet space, friendly staff, nice lobby with ample seating. The only complaint I have on the hotel is the size of the bathroom and specifically the shower. Although the bathroom is very clean and modern, the size of the shower is nearly unacceptable. Don't get me wrong, it was a great shower with all working parts and great water flow. The size is the only complaint. I would, however, recommend this hotel.

We arrived at Hotel Valdarno after travelling over 35 hours from Melbourne Australia and stayed to explore Montevarchi the next day. The hotel exceeded my expectations in terms of comfort and 'charm'. The breakfast including organic and gluten-free options was memorable and the staff very helpful. We were travelling on to a village in Chianti so only stayed one night, but will seriously consider basing ourselves in Montevarchi and at hotel Valdarno for future visits to the region. The hotel's location an easy walk from the station, and close to piazzas, restaurants and the archaeological museum was great and the supermarket right behind it a great place to stock up for our further travels.
