Staff lovely , so helpful ! Room great very walkable to pool , lounge. Only thing is that nothing really walkable outside of resort, needed to drive to get to town etc.But would still stay here again!

Stunning venue.

The location is perfect, but for a five star resort unfortunately it falls short especially in the properties. We stayed in a two bedroom Town House which on arrival looked fantastic, but soon noticed the poor condition internally. The living room had several loose floor tiles large chunks of plaster missing from walls and the skirting boards in an awful condition. The handrails for the stairs was a worry though they had definitely been coming away from the wall at some point and silicon had been used to try and hold the rail in place which wasn't working and clearly this is something they should address for safety purposes. Jacuzzi in each bathroom didn't work shower fixings broken or missing in each bathroom. Main bedroom balcony patio door lock was broken and the outside light didn't work.

Resort is very family friendly. Breakfast was great and the pool was clean. I would recommend this resort.

Lovely chilled resort. We walked a lot, there’s a lot of hills nearby so be prepared for that. Otherwise taxis are very cheap

We had a nice stay at the resort. The property is clean and well equipped.

This resort has great bones. It has the potential to be great and, I think, was once, not long ago. It’s let down by the condition of the rooms/apartments. The location is good, it’s possible to walk to a few restaurants and Carvoeiro is within striking distance. Our apartment was a good size, but just needed some maintenance and updating. The dishwasher didn’t wash dishes properly. The rail on the balcony was warped, “splintery” and needed painting/staining. The fittings in the bathroom were, in some cases, missing or broken. The mats in the gym are worn thin, the floor of the gym is stained and damaged. The TV service was good in terms of choice of channel, signal was patchy though and could benefit from providing access to Netflix, Prime etc. Would I go back? Yes, right after a renovation.

We really enjoyed our stay at Monte Santo and would happily return. Our room didn’t have enough blankets or towels and when they were replaced they often weren’t replaced equally (no bath mat after cleaning, missing face clothes). Otherwise, it was a great stay

Great staff and the main pool was the main attraction. We were a group of 20 people staying in a mix of 2 bed apartments. All the rooms were good, clean and had everything you needed. We didnt need to fight for loungera in the morning but most people were quite quick to place towels. Some of the pool area had tiles that could do we replacing and some of the bridges needed attention. The Cool Bar by the pool was great for drinks, ice creams etc. The breakfast was always good, attentive staff. They offered various eggs too but no sign to say that so found out by seeing other peoples food. The nearby town of Carvoiero was great to visit too. Easy to get around in cabs and Ubers.

This was an amazing trip for us! We were a family of 18 staying in multiple apartments over the resort. The pool, the townhouses and apartments, the service. All was amazing! We can not fault it. We went with elderly family members at 70 years and old and the youngest was 7!

Our stay at Monte Santo Resort started well but quickly turned into a series of frustrations. Upon arrival at our 3-bedroom villa, we found an external door that was unable to be locked and none of the phones working. Reporting these issues to reception was futile, as the phones were apparently on back-order – a claim I found hard to believe. The pool area was another disappointment. Despite a policy against reserving sunbeds with towels, this was ignored, making it impossible to find a sunbed during peak hours unless you joined in the same practice. The villa had significant maintenance issues. Two bathrooms had baths that wouldn’t drain, and the third lacked a plug entirely. Maintenance eventually fixed the drains, explaining parts were missing – a baffling oversight. The worst issue came two days before checkout when a plumbing leak caused the downstairs bathroom ceiling to collapse, leaving two bathrooms unusable. Despite reporting this early, the response was slow, and a villa change was only offered late in the day, which was impractical as we were attending a wedding. Other issues, like loose bannisters, added to the disappointment. Overall, Monte Santo Resort fails to meet 5-star expectations. Poor maintenance, lack of attention to detail, and inadequate handling of issues made this a stay we wouldn’t recommend or repeat.

Unfortunately we had a number of maintenance issues , lots of broken things in the 2 bed townhouse air conditioning after a number of attempts could not be fixed , door was Broken , button to flush toilet and more they definitely need to be maintained better . Staff are great it’s a lovely resort but I can’t say it’s 5 star due to those issues I would say 4 stars and unfortunately won’t return .

Great stay

Very nice property 15 minutes walk to town (downhill) cheap Uber back. Had only a couple of small issues. They do need to change the music in the bar/restaurant. 5 songs in the entire loop.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel in Portugal. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and especially great with the kids, which made a huge difference for us. We stayed in a two-bedroom apartment, and it had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The space was clean, well-equipped, and perfect for our family. The breakfast offered a great selection each morning – something for everyone – and really set us up for the day. But honestly, the highlight for the kids was the pool area. They didn’t want to leave! It was safe, fun, and a big hit for the whole family. Could do with a small amount of upkeep in this area with the decking but this didn’t hinder or bother us in anyway. All in all, a fantastic experience and we would definitely return. Highly recommend for families looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway.

Lovely hotel, we had a great time

Lovely place, well maintained with a super staff. Townhouse has everything needed and they fitted stair gates immediately when we asked. Will definitely return.
