The bathroom was a bit grim- the plug closing mechanism was broken and very grimy behind the opening. The carpets were about grubby and inside the kettle was covered in limescale. Overall it was quite cheap, but not cheap enough.

Lovely hotel. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was tasty & the gluten free range was great & the staff were very knowledgeable & attentive regarding this.

Staff were very friendly. Reception and bar area very nice and clean however room was extremely dated, not very clean. Hairs in the shower and stains on the side of bed (don’t even want to think what they could have been)

Ordered a chicken Caesar salad, disappointingly, it was terrible. I wasn't expecting haute cuisine, but it was awful.
The manager did however, take it off the bill.
Otherwise, overall, the room and the hotel were decent.

Nice hotel, pleasant staff, nice breakfast selection but due to type of building just a very noisy hotel as you can hear footsteps from floor above and every door closing.

The hotel is fine. Staff were good and guy working in restaurant at breakfast and who brought coffee to our meeting room on Wednesday was especially good.

Staff were very helpful and polite, the only thing I am very concerned about and will be taking further is the 10% service charge on the food and drink.
On the back of the menu at the bottom and in the middle of the smallest font you can read at an eye test states that a non obligation charge of 10% will be added. Therefore when I queried the bill being over the amount I expected they could not take of the charge, even though I have no idea what the food or service was going to be like.
On further investigation it appears that this surplus funds does not reach the staff for whom the tips are intended for. Further investigation exposed that a worker got £11.50 in tips for the whole month during October.

3 year running at the Holiday Inn for the Xmas dinner/disco. I think this year was the best so far. Well organised with great food and drink, a good DJ and brilliant company followed by a great nights sleep in a massive bed and a nice breakfast the next morning.

If you want to sleep in your room make sure there is no function on.
The whole hotel was vibrating and thumping with the noise.
I hoped it would stop at 11pm but it went on until half past midnight.
I had to be up at 6am for an early start!

We had two rooms. One was ok and as expected but my experience of checking in was disappointing. Arrived at 1.15pm and was told room not ready (completely understand that room not ready till 3) but was told I could not check in - never had this before and had to check in when we arrived later that evening. This is fine if those are your rules but when checking out this morning there was a couple at10am being allowed to check in?? Our second room for daughter and son in law was not good at all. Only one towel in the room and that was dirty. There was hair in the shower and poo left in the toilet. Your night manager did apologise this morning and said should have phoned down but when arriving late not all these things were obvious. Not what I would expect for paying nearly £200 and very disappointed. Sorry

I was Charged full price at £123 for 1 night for a standard Double I was given room 212 which is probably the smallest room I have ever had the mis pleasure of staying in. The bathroom was so small it was a struggle to shut the door without leaning over the toilet. I don't have a problem with them putting someone in these kinds of rooms but don't charge me full price for it.
