I am very disappointed with the condition of the room we were given. If it were not for the neatly folded towels, I would have assumed the room had not been cleaned at all and that it was assigned to us by mistake. The sink is covered with toothpaste residue, the toilet seat is visibly soiled, and the carpet appears not to have been vacuumed for a long time. Given the overall condition, I am also concerned about whether the bed linen was properly changed before our arrival. This level of cleanliness is far below acceptable standards, and unfortunately this has been the worst hotel experience I have had.

My wife and I stayed at the Akzent Hotel Schranne in Rothenburg ob der Tauber for three days, from Friday to Monday morning, and really enjoyed our time there. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet was really good with plenty to choose from. One big plus is the parking behind the hotel for a small fee. If you’ve ever tried parking in Rothenburg, you’ll know how useful that is. We booked a superior double room, which was large and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was spacious as well, with a walk-in shower. The location is extremely convenient for the town center, yet far enough away that you are not in the much busier (and noisier) area with the Christmas market. Overall, we had a great stay and would happily come back.

Rothenburg is absolutely stunning, and this place couldn’t be in a better spot—easy to get anywhere in town. It felt like a family-run hotel that’s part of a larger chain, with those personal touches alongside all the amenities you’d expect. My room was a small single, but it had everything I needed—simple and just right. I ate in the restaurant most days, and both the food and service were excellent. Out in the beer garden, I met some great people from the U.S., Germany, and Austria—everyone just clicked. The owner went out of his way to help me with a few practical things (like sorting laundry while travelling through Europe), and handled it all really professionally. I’d go back without hesitation. Highly recommended.

Really cool little hotel inside the walls of Rothenburg. Each room looked unique, but fitting for the area. Only issue we had was the size of the bathroom, but that seems typical of the area.
