A lovely old hotel which is great for people wanting a quiet stay in the town of Civita Castellana. Rooms were a good size and comfortable.

We had an outstanding stay at the Relais Falisco which exceeded our expectations in all respects. The hotel is nicely appointed, with friendly staff, and a superb restaurant (which we liked so much the first night, we went back the next day).

Good location. Lift available. Free parking onsite. Lovely historic building. Room size adequate for 2 people, but certainly not large. Breakfast is pedestrian, with extremely strong, muddy tasting coffee. In room mini fridge did not work, was not fixed after notifying management.

Fantastic accommodation with a world class restaurant. The town itself is not that much to look at, but the accommodation makes up for this. Find a quiet corner with a book and relax.

This hotel was a real find! It is in a rural, low mountain area a little more than an hour North of Rome - a perfect decompression place after a long flight from the West Coast of the US. The hotel is a palace from the 17th century, the grounds are beautiful and the surrounding area is filled with ancient architecture. The staff was friendly, helpful and professional. Treat yourself to a dinner in their restaurant for a delicious surprise.

Superb room - more like a suite - in a historic building full of character. Friendly, helpful staff. Very good breakfast and a good adjoining restaurant. Situated in the old town with narrow streets, but ample parking and a good centre for visiting interesting places north of Rome such as Orvieto, Cerveteri, Viterbo, Tarquinia. Only slight inconvenience, a wedding on the Saturday night caused some disruption - otherwise very quiet and relaxing.

Very interesting building in an ideal location (once the one-way system was worked out) and with parking inside the hotel courtyard. The restaurant served good food, the rooms were clean and well-kept.

Historic building, beautiful room, parking. all good. in the heart of civita castellana very friendly staff. bathroom slightly out of date in terms of look and comfort. spa facility looks good because of setting inside grotto, and inexpensive. however, very modest hot tub and sauna.

Tried to call beforehand to get travel info but the staff at that late hour wasn't fluent in English. Train stop at civita castellana MAGDALANA was not the right train. Called hotel but they were unable to arrange transport.Luckily we got a ride and were very happy with the hotel. It was beautiful, quiet and authentic. The only disapointment was the pillows.Pretty hard.I would recommend doing as much research as possible about the area beforehand because we missed several sights .There was a great map up the lane at an "i" window which the hotel advertised in...they should get some copies made to hand out. Our last day we hired a taxi (Who we had tried to call at the station the first night but our phone wasn't working)His English was excellent and he knew the area well..next time we"ll use his services to fins those hidden gems. This is a wonderful place and a great hotel. Be sure to visit the fort museum with a translator. It is first class.

Great Place. Very quaint and historic. Loved the jacuzzi in the subterranean cave. Rooms with high ceilings and large windows were very nice. The wifi was very slow, but I found that to be true in all of Italy. Great onsite restaurant which was once the manor house stable. Was built by a count as his home in 1600's, Really neat place. Would definitely go back.

Joined friends here because of the proximity to Rome. Civita Castellana is a charming, sleepy Italian town and the Relais Falisco is just wonderful. Very historic and beautifully restored. Amazing charm. The swallows have made a home in the flowers and they even have a jacuzzi and sauna in an underground ancient cellar. Just fabulous and really spooky, we loved it. The hotel restaurant, Il Scudere, is in the restored stables of the old manor house, which was once the home of a count in the 1600's. Even the horse troughs are still there and are used for dried herbs and flowers. The hay bins are used for wine, just great. If you like history and want a very unique place, away from the throngs of tourists, try this hotel. You'll really enjoy your stay.

Probably the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in - just lovely, and spacious, an experience in and of itself. Unfortunately, there's not much to do or see in the host town, Civita, so the hotel must serve as a base for trips in the surrounding area if one wants to stay more than one night.

It's not easy to find but is a real gem when you eventually find it. Service was absolutely great and staff were really helpful. Room was really well decorated and was nicely furnished. Bathroom was spotless. No restaurant but there are plenty of nice restaurants in the town - which is not touristy and is a challenge if your Italian is not up to scratch!
