If you don’t have a car, this may not be the hotel for you cause it’s not close to the center of Segovia. You will need to spend lots of money on Uber or taxi. They have a swimming pool and paddle court. Kids enjoyed them. FYI, they need $20 deposit for pool towels and paddle/balls. We love the breakfast - lots of choices. Fresh fruit were great. Kitchen staff were all pleasant. I’m not sure if I can say the same with the receptionists however. I don’t usually rate the staff but the ladies behind that counter were not the most pleasant nor helpful. I stayed in 3 different hotels in this trip (Madrid and Valencia) and that’s why I’m spending time to rate the staff in this hotel. The staff on the other two hotels were pleasant, approachable, helpful and and they went above and beyond to make us comfortable and welcome. They were not stuck up which I’m afraid how I would describe the receptionists at Hotel Candido. We will be back in Segovia for the next four years but I doubt I will stay at this hotel again.

The property was great the only thing I would like to mention is that the staff was rude and not very friendly but the property deserved a good review because is well kept and clean

Poor wifi connection and in a pretty remote area - not close to much of interest. We stayed for the indoor pool, only to find we had to pay 12 euros ppph extra!

The room and bathroom were very good.The communal areas were very nice. the location was away from the tourist area but was walkable in 30 minutes and the bus stop located directly outside the hotel was convenient. Buses every 15 minutes and not expensive. The major disappointment was that the outdoor swimming pool was closed. If we were made aware of this during or after the booking process then we would have chosen a different hotel.

Forget anything negative you may have read about this hotel …. It’s absolutely fabulous. The room was very spacious with luxurious carpets opening onto our own private courtyard. The bed was superb and the quality of the bed linen was superb; as were the pillows. The en-suite bathroom was well appointed with separate shower and toilet cubicles. The bath towels were superb quality and a very generous size. I can’t comment on breakfast as I prefer to have only a coffee but, I did take a look and was impressed by the selection and quality. We did however take an evening meal in the restaurant and the service and food were superb. All the staff were helpful and polite and the free parking felt secure as we could park our motorcycles next to the main entrance. Would I stay here again? Most certainly YES.

Cons * No kettle, tea or coffee making facilities * No tissues * No hot towel rail * Rooms are definitely not soundproofed and if you are on a first floor room expect to be kept awake by the noisy babble from the communal area below. And the Spanish like to ear late, drink late and shout late. (12.30 - 1am is not uncommon) Additionally, the staff start pushing the chairs back in the morning - The scraping noise will ensure an early wake up call!! * No balcony as stated * No robes * Beautifully appointed restaurant: Pity about the food and service - and that’s an understatement. Xperience As we were staying in this beautifully appointed hotel with what purported to be a Michelin restaurant, we dressed up for what we thought was going to be a special meal. Shown to our table and left for15 minutes before asking us for our drinks. Another 15 minutes before they took our food order and shortly after that a plate of croquettes was literally dumped on the table. We shrugged and started on our shared entree, but with 4 croquettes still on the platter our plates were whisked away and our mains dumped before us. Mains were even worse. Cold food that should have been hot, waiters that couldn’t care less. Horrible experience!!

Very pleasant one night stay . Hotel has a beautiful reception area and gardens. Our room was bright and sunny with views. We walked into Sergovia - about 25 mins though there are 2 buses which would take you there too.
