Great apt close to cairns

Hi, The two negatives I have from our stay are a very hard mattress in the main bedroom(sofa bed was more comfortable)No staff on at reception on weekend wasn't ideal But The pool was lovely,the breakfast on site was outstanding,the staff were friendly,the rooms although dated were very clean and nicely layed out with plenty of room for a comfortable stay and the fresh plants from the garden were a nice touch.I would definitely stay here again and would recommend the Golden sands to my friends and family.

The attached restaurant was convenient for breakfast and dinner and the food was tasty. The small shopping centre nearby had medical, pharmacy, barber and groceries and some eateries. The local boat club is very nice inside and great meals. Our internet worked well and the beach was a short walk from the rear of the apartments .This was our first time holidaying outside of Cairns city and we loved it.

Fantastic owners very friendly close to beach

We loved it here. The apartment was spotless and fully equipped with super “Hidden” cafe downstairs. Right next to the beautiful beach, tropical pool and close to bus stops and shops. What a little piece of paradise. A place of tranquility and calm. Everyone very friendly too. Can’t think of anything we would change!

Very quaint apt. It has the necessary appliances required to stay for short rental. We stayed for 10 days. The room was spacious & lots of seating areas. It is also very close to the beach & walking path. The bathroom door needs an update since it keeps getting stuck when you slide it. The fans & ducts does need some cleaning---noticeable dust has accumulated over time. The restaurant in the hotel has a lovely menu.

So beautifully looked after. I love coming here

Relaxing beautiful accommodation

Was great place with beach nearby, too bad we missed dining at the hiding because of new years but a lovely place with the pool the children enjoyed in. The instructions were clear and we had no problem checking in late in the night

Loved our stay at The Golden Sands resort!!! The communication was awesome and the hotel itself was lovely it was very clean and nice and easily accessible, had a great loogan style pool, the area is very quiet overall we had a great time and if we travel up that way again we will definitely be visiting again!

A fantastic spot. Great hospitality, cleanliness and communication from the staff. Very comfortable room, huge bed, well shaded picturesque pool, right next to a strip of rainforest that separates you from the beach by just 150m. Warm evening walks on the beach with access to two good restaurants, Hidden@Yorkeys and Ten06. I was considering giving a negative review so I could keep this secret all to myself.

Everything was good apart from the malfunctioning bed

The apartment was clean. Carl was amazing with helping us with an early check in and so accommodating. A great place to stay. Everything was easy and close by.

The one bedroom apartment was clean and comfortable. Shower and air conditioning were good. Location is in quiet street with good parking. The apartments are not serviced. This is fine but given the savings on cleaning the complex makes when you stay a week I would have expected supplies of toilet rolls etc to have been replenished. It’s a minor thing but somewhat annoying. Overall a good stay.

The property had a very relaxed feeling with a lovely lagoon. I enjoyed the tennis and basketball courts. It was nice being outside of the hustle and bustle of Cairns. My only feedback would be upgrade the bed, as a sensitive sleeper it was very bouncy as my partner moved throughout the night. Thanks for a great stay.

We stayed here to be near the beach which was feet away. The apartment was quaint with patio to hang out. We would definitely stay here again.

Great location nestled amongst mature palm trees and a stone’s throw from the beach. 2 clean spacious units were perfect for 2 adults and 3 kids and perfect for self catering. Lovely mildly heated pool and the tennis court kept us all occupied when we weren’t out and about. Carl and Mandy were awesome and super helpful. Would definitely come back and recommend if you’re hitting the Cairns area.

Excellent 11 night stay having arrived in Cairns for relocation. Hotel is in a wonderful location right on the beach and within walking distance to small shops, bar and cafe. There is a lovely tropical pool onsite too along with a small restaurant/bar. Our room had everything you would require and was clean and tidy. The hosts communication was brilliant and we couldn’t recommend the hotel enough.
