Great location & good value. Good breakfast. An old & nice building & you’d expect a few issues, but it is showing its age & lacking a bit of tlc in places. We may have been unlucky, but the room we had was a little ’run down’ - window was in disrepair with cracked wood, a lot of glue & mostly missing bird spikes on the sill (resulting in an early morning pigeon visit!) & a lot of flaking paint. Window also couldn’t be opened (or stay opened) properly & had to be wedged open with a toilet roll. Room was also uncomfortably warm & we also had a faulty wall light that couldn’t be turned off & was loose & hanging at an angle. Bathroom & shower showing its age a bit. Overall though, a reasonable stay & reasonably priced.

Charming hotel and great location. Bar and restaurant onsite were very nice and handy. Breakfast was amazing! Hospitality of the staff, also amazing. Don't let limited parking scare you, they have a nice arrangement for inexpensive overnight parking just across the street. Older facility, so don't expect air conditioning, and of course we stayed there during a historical heat wave in the UK for May. On normal nights, I think temps would be fine. Would recommend and stay at again.

On the one of the hottest days of the year, the room had a tiny fan for a family room. Unbearable, no sleep at all. I understand you can't have air-conditioning on the building as its old, however there is nothing stopping you putting portable air-conditioning units in the rooms. Simply Unbearable. Staff were nice and friendly, amenities of, slightly dated, but its an old building.

Every member of staff we met was friendly and helpful. We were lucky enough to be upgraded and our room was beautiful with a view over the river. It was quiet and comfortable and I loved the window seat in the bay window. The bathroom was enormous and boasted both bath and walk in shower. Unfortunately the basin taps were very difficult to turn off and trickled overnight but we were assured that this would be looked at and received sincere apologies for the inconvenience. We enjoyed a full and plentiful breakfast with bottomless tea and coffee. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wished we could have stayed a little longer

Charming quirky hotel. In a great location. Close to shops, bars, restsurants, quayside. Loved the decor and feel of the place. Staff very friendly, chatty and helpful. Room very spacious, clean etc. Will return!

Great value for money

Bar ok , as people have said rooms tired, items in room broken, couldnt turn heating off, carpet very old and a bit dirty / worn. Shame

I booked one of the cheaper rooms this time but it had everything we needed, the bathroom had lovely thick towels and a great shower. All very clean. Friendly, helpful staff.

Incredible! To sum up our stay. It was incredible! From start to finish I can’t fault the service we received, Spotless, peaceful, spacious and super well equipped.

Good location in town, nice breakfast. Had a few little issues while we were there which staff did their best to sort. Rooms in need of deep clean especially very dusty curtains! Be aware there is limited parking so you will have to pay for the public car park nearby. Our room was up several flights of stairs with no lift and no help with heavy luggage offered.

The Bell Hotel is a beautiful place, the staffs are friendly, I had a comfortable stay.

Staff were great and very welcoming. Breakfast was superb. Only negative was that the room was so hot and we couldn’t adjust the heat.
