Torbrau has a great central location - one block from the Isator train station, 3 blocks from Marienplatz. If you are looking to have a great vacation without a car, it's a perfect place to walk the Old Town. Good restaurants abound, bike rentals available right around the corner (Mike's Bikes, great people to work with). A short bike ride to the English Garden, where beauty awaits. The best part of Torbrau is their staff: EVERYONE is genuinely pleasant, always helpful to get you what you want/need. It's the oldest Hotel in Munich, so it has smaller rooms than the newer chain hotels, but it's the employees that made a difference for me!

Ideal location next to the Isartor transit station in old Munich - direct line from airport. Considered the oldest hotel in Munich! but with an updated, more modern decor. Rooms are small but very functional and well appointed. Within walking distance to Marienplatz and many cafes & other attractions. Excellent breakfast and friendly staff. Shapeau was lovely for a drink but very limited snack/food options. Completely out of the control of the hotel, but can get noisy at night with revelers. We would absolutely stay again!

Great hotel in the center of the action in Munich. The staff, from the front desk to the house cleaning to the breakfast and bar staff are friendly and exceptionally helpful. Breakfast is great! Parking, if you need it, is convenient and reasonably priced. If I had one complaint, it would be the bath towels could be a little larger and softer, but I can't really rate this hotel down for that as they make up for it in some many other ways. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt in München, weil auch das Hotel an perfekter Lage für uns war. Das Personal sehr freundlich, die Zimmer sauber, das Frühstück absolut i.O. Preissegment eher hoch, aber es hat sich gelohnt. Die Bar im Hause schloss etwas früh, aber es gab eine Option nebenan;-)! Wir wünschen dem Team weiterhin alles gute und behalten das Hotel Torbräu in bester Erinnerung. Christina und René

The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating during the Lufthansa strike. The hotel is also perfectly situated for the S Bahn.

Excellent hotel in perfect location

Staff is so helpful and rooms are very comfortable and location is great.

The location of the property is within walking distance to many of Munich's cultural attractions which was a plus. However, the property is quite dated and the room I was assigned had shag carpeting. The shower was also quite small and not sure how a large person would be able to access it in such a small space.

Wonderful central location. Quiet, clean, comfortable room. Good buffet breakfast. Professional, friendly, super helpful staff. Great restaurants & coffee shops within minutes.

The staff at Hotel Torbrau was welcoming. The hotel was clean and close to main of the main attractions! The breakfast staff did an excellent job preparing the food and were welcoming as well. This was our second time staying at the Hotel Torbrau and we will stay again if we are ever back in Munich.

This is a beautiful and charming boutique hotel just a few blocks from Marienplatz and the famous Glockenspiel. If you’re seeking a Hilton or Steigenberger chain experience, this isn’t it—and that’s precisely its appeal. Most rooms are very nice with updated features, and the suite bathrooms are wonderfully renovated. While rooms are smaller than typical chain hotels, they’re efficiently designed and far more characterful. Breakfast is fantastic with plenty of options served in a vibrant, café-style space that sets the perfect tone for exploring the city. The hotel no longer has an on-site restaurant, but honestly, you won’t miss it. Dozens of excellent Bavarian restaurants are within a five-minute walk—including the world-renowned Hofbräuhaus. There’s also a cozy bar and lounge with dessert options for quieter evenings. The staff was exceptional: courteous, accommodating, and genuinely helpful throughout our stay. If you embrace the charm and character of a classic European boutique hotel, this is an outstanding choice. I’d absolutely return here the next time I’m in Munich.
