Nice parador, excellent food. Rooms are quite dark. Difficult to find, since Google maps was leading us through the old town. Construction work going on. No English spoken at reception.

The Parador de Ciudad Rodrigo is a stunning blend of history, comfort, and charm nestled within the ancient city walls of Ciudad Rodrigo. Housed in a beautifully restored 12th-century castle, this Parador offers guests a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in Spanish heritage without sacrificing modern amenities. The rooms are spacious and elegantly decorated, combining rustic stone walls with tasteful furnishings that create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The views from the windows overlook the historic city and the surrounding countryside, providing a serene and picturesque backdrop. Service at the Parador is attentive and friendly, making every guest feel welcome. Dining here is a true highlight — the restaurant serves traditional Castilian cuisine with a refined touch, featuring locally sourced ingredients that bring authentic flavors to the table. Whether you’re exploring the medieval streets of Ciudad Rodrigo, relaxing in the peaceful gardens, or enjoying a quiet evening by the fireplace, the Parador provides a perfect balance of history, comfort, and hospitality. It’s an ideal destination for travelers seeking an unforgettable stay steeped in culture. Highly recommended for history buffs, couples, and anyone looking to experience the soul of Castilla y León.

Amazing castle that has been turned into a hotel and restaurant. The rooms were renovated and very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was delicious with hot food options. And the location is amazing, atop the hill and with easy access to all of the sights in Cuidad Rodrigo.

We had the Baptism of our child in the Parador de Ciudad Rodrigo and it was magical. A special shout out to Estela, who coordinated everything wonderfully from start to finish, even taking our 400,000 questions with a smile and adhering to the smallest details. It could NOT have went any smoother and the setting, wow, its fantastic. This parador or castle is located on top of a hill, settled into the old walls that guarded and surround the city, and with the recent restorations to the inside and outside that lasted for over 10 months or so, the castle is in fantastic shape. The dining room (and the castle overall) is Medieval and it was an experience that me and my family will never forget. The food was delicious, the wine and drinks wonderful, and the overall cleanliness, preparation, care, thought, and setting of this place is top-notch. Estela, again, thank you so much! Beautiful hotel and stunning town - definitely worth a stay! I would have given it 5 stars but because of lack of swimming pool only gave 4. However, the gardens are beautiful and the terrace bar is lovely. The town was a complete surprise - lot's of restaurants, bars and things to do and magical architecture!
