The property had amazing gardens. The house itself was a bit dated, not that we minded, but it had everything we needed and the host was so helpful. Lovely breakfasts with home made jam went down a treat

If you like a real log fire on a cold night, cosy and clean accommodation, charming hosts and a good hearty breakfast, this is the place for you! Nothing was too much trouble and it was nice to get a real feel and understanding of the local area. The garden is a real treat!

Check in stopped at 20:00 … after 20 minutes driving up and down unlit country lanes to eventually find the place… I was refused access as I were past the 20:00 check in time. A very rude, condescending and disrespectful attitude from the property owner … disgusting

We really enjoyed the warm, homely hospitality at this wonderfully traditional B & B. Our bed was super comfortable. The Wif-fi was excellent. In the morning Yolande cooked our breakfast as we chatted. Absolutely delicious. Pancakes to die for. Recommend.

I arrived to a warm and enthusiastic welcome from the wonderful husband and wife hosts, who by their own admission are classic car ‘petrol heads’ (kit-cars a speciality). This traditional B and B has all the expected comforts and a breakfast menu ‘not to miss’ incorporating many home made options. A truly delightful stay; and I will definitely return.

We booked a twin room in Brownhill House for 5 nights to attend Shrewsbury Folk Festival. The property is conveniently situated to reach the festival site with a 25 minute drive avoiding Shrewsbury town centre. We had a most pleasant stay with Yoland and Roger who were most genial hosts. The room was comfortable and a cosy shared sitting area for all the guests was also provided. The room was serviced daily. Apart from the usual amenities, books and other reading materials were made available on loan. Guests are also invited to visit the garden, a 2 acre terraced wonderland full of colourful plants and unexpected items, as well as fruit and veg which supplemented the breakfast table. Breakfast was an amazing spread which included home- baked muffins. Most of all, however, Yoland and Roger are both interesting and interested in their guests. If you wish, you can have the most illuminating exchanges on a large range of topics. We just loved our stay!

From the moment we booked this B&B to the minute we left , we were treated like it was a 5 star hotel. Communications by email was great, check in was at our convenience, the welcome...oh my!! Second to none. Our room was just as it says in all their adverts, clean and comfortable, location was a bit far from shrewsbury, so one will need a car but Brownhill house's garden and hospitality made up for the distance. Yolanda and Roger are just lovely, guests are treated like families . Oh, as for breakfast, make sure you're hungry in the morning, it is lush! The owners are great and under rated. Their garden is absolutely beautiful. A national heritage. Thank you both for a beautiful weekend. The village of Ruyton X1 Towns is now on my map. We will come again.

The hotel is in convenient location for access to main routes to the attractions nearby. The room was comfortable. Breakfast was most enjoyable. Parking is easy. There is a large garden the owners take great pride in.
