Lovely staff! Lovely property! Clean and attractive room with a beautiful view.

This is a fortress as the name of the hotel implies. The rooms are in the Fortress Orsini. There is a parking lot that's about a 3-5 minute walk to the hotel (depending on how close to the hotel you park) but beware of maps on the iPhone. It indicated that I had to walk a lot farther, but when I called the hotel, they explained that I only had to walk a few minutes. The room was decent but since I sent in November, it was cool. The room had a radiator but I was informed that it was turned on only a couple times a day. So the room was not comfortable. Sleeping wasn't a problem because if it's a little cool, one can still stay warm. However, after a very long walk down to the city and back, I cam back to the hotel and it was very cold. And even when the heat was turned on, there was only a trickle of heat coming from the radiator. Be aware of this if you are traveling there during cold weather.

The staff was amazing, all was perfect, I felt like living in another century.

It was a great experience!! Loved the hotel and walking around. Sylvia was especially kind and gracious. The rosa house wine was excellent. We will be back from America and will certainly tell our friends and family!! Thank you you such a memorable experience!!

We had a great time and could not have asked for more. Their attention and enthusiasm was wonderful. We loved it! Very grateful for the hospitality.

An absolutely amazing location, wonderful hosts and incredible food. Stunning views from the room, clean bathroom. Fantastic wine tour and tasting, very clear instructions regarding parking. The only thing we’d change is a fan or some air con though we fully appreciate that might not be possible due to the historic nature of the building. It was a little too warm for us at night and we were reluctant to leave the windows open as there was a gap in a mosquito screen. This may not be an issue for others who are more used to the heat! Thank you for a most wonderful stay. Provided the perfect base to visit the Tuff towns. We will recommend to friends and family.

This was a fantastic hotel. The service was impeccable. The dinner was amazing. The owners are amazing and love what they do. I am planning to come back and spend more time. I only regret that is was only for one night.

I was very disappointed with this hotel. I stayed here 5 years ago and was so impressed with this hotel that it was the highlight of my trip to Italy…this time it was not as good. Will not be returning.

We stayed here for our 20th anniversary. Our stay here was like a fairy tale, a dream, and trip back in time. Romantic atmosphere, beautiful room with a nice view, quiet, peaceful, magical, even the furniture was beautiful. This was the most unique and wonderful experience I have ever enjoyed! I recommend this to everyone!

Llegar al hotel de la Fortezza es como entrar a un cuento. No solo por el paisaje de los alrededores sino por cada detalle en el cuidado de cada cosa. El servicio de las chicas que atienden en la recepción es impecable, el servicio de desayuno es extraordinario y la comodidad de las habitaciones también es destacable. Sin lugar a dudas lo recomendamos y volveremos con el resto de nuestra familia para que ellos también vivan esta experiencia única e inolvidable en uno de los pocos lugares históricos del mundo que aún quedan habitables. I was truly amazed by my stay at this magnificent and unique hotel near Pitigliano. The rooms, the service, and the place itself are outstanding—by far one of the best places I stayed at during my visit to the Tuscany region. The owner’s attention and hospitality are top-notch, a solid 10 out of 10. Highly recommended!

An absolute surprise, a gem in the middle of nowhere it seemed, but in reality, close to many different towns, and things to do. I don't normally rate 5 stars, but from the excellent meet to leaving, the entire staff was perfect. A five star meal, cupped with 5 star service, can not praise this place enough. A must while in Sorrano. Thank you all for my stay.

We stayed one night and were enchanted with the fortress turned hotel in the heart of Sorano. Our room had amazing views of the surrounding town, the breakfast had fantastic coffee and a wide assortment of meats, cheeses, breads, and pastries. The owners tour of the underground wine cellars and wine making process capped off with a tasting was informative and delicious.
