Cannot complain at all the for price for this location!! Amazing to be able to go to the jazz shows downstairs as well. Staff was super kind and helpful. Room wasn't huge or fancy but super clean and cozy. We will definitely be staying again!!

It might be good to stay here for 1 day but the jazz club downstairs was louder than expected (my fault!) and I didn't get a good night of sleep over the 3 nights I was there. Also, the shared bathroom was not that clean. The staff was very helpful and the location is great.

Curtains were letting lots of light through, all else was great. Hot water for shower always great to have! I am likely to stay again in the future.

Fair price, in a good location in the city. Underwhelming room conditions (our bathroom door was broken and sound travelled too easily). Bathroom was good other than the door. Staff was friendly.

This was my first stay at the Rex and it was awesome! The staff are particularly great and the music acts were amazing. I've never watched a Jazz performance live before and I was captivated watching the Saturday main event, which was Don Byron and NOJO. I ended up staying through both sets and then the late night performance which was a group called Flintlock, who were also great. I booked Sunday night as well and had another great show with the Steve Holt Jazz Quintet. For meals, I had the chicken fingers on Sunday night and the BLT and home fries when I was checking out on Monday. Both meals were very good, reasonably priced and the portions on the chicken fingers were huge. My room was very nice and surprisingly quiet considering the hotel's location. The bed was comfortable and the price was one of the best values in Toronto. I booked everything a few months in advance though and I would recommend you book your rooms and buy any tickets for the shows ahead of time as both shows were sold out and I heard their rooms are being booked for the summer already. I am definitely making this hotel a regular stop for my frequent trips to Toronto.

Clean room , accessible and close to union Station . Nice to go down at bar and listen to Jazz while having coffee , good for 1 nite stay in Toronto

Be sure you areive by 11pm! Roomm was neat and clean with comfy bed. Simple furnishings and just enough towels. Etc.

I really enjoyed the uniqueness of the property. While rooms are small vs a traditional hotel, everything I needed as a business traveller was available. It’s a historic venue for great music and a comfortable stay.

If you're passing by Toronto or looking for something more affordable and not shady this is it. Staff was very friendly, the food was delicious, the location was convenient for public transportation, and the musicians performing are very talented. Though we didn’t experience the show at night, my friends and I got to see the band playing in the afternoon. Staff, musicians, and other customers were all friendly. Only complaint is you can tell it’s an older building that needs a touch up. Our room had paint chipping and cracking, the floor was uneven on one spot and our bathroom sliding door was broken. Also recommend bringing bathroom essentials, the soap provided is in a hand dispenser in the shower. However, for any short trip I can see my friends and I revisiting.

LOUD! Loud outside big time and not soundproofed and for the 3 nights there I slept super little! Even out in halls and etc. When I wrote off Expedia I did not get any replies and they do not have an email option on their website either. 1st room was so dirty and in terrible shape. TV had lines through it too. Plus so loud as outside there was a loose metal grate that made tons of noise each car driving over it all day and all night. I asked on quiet in advance but even when I switched rooms the next night I still got street side and not the other side for weird no reasoning my way but: hotel almost full. Housekeeper was non engaging and not happy as I told her there was no body wash but the dispenser was not working much and did not really need the attitude. Just one of my very worst stays ever!, anywhere.

Basic and good location

Great stay overall. The room was clean and comfortable, staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was convenient to all. I would happily stay here again.
