My favorite place to stay in Cuenca! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, the rooms are all unique and spotless. I love the old property. If I ever find myself back in Cuenca I know where I'm staying!

The staff warmly welcomed me, carried my suitcase to my room and were very helpful when I asked questions about the city. I loved my view in room 13!

Very interesting building with incredible views. Loved our stay, though the shower head in our bathroom was broken.

The room was amazing, with two balconies with stunning views. The restaurant is fantastic, and the service is exceptional. If you're visiting Cuenca, stay here!

We did enjoy our stay here. It was close to the sights. Our room was clean and comfortable. The two downsides were the constant music next door ( close restaurant) not the fault of the hotel and the WiFi would not stay on. They were very helpful when we needed it.

If you want amazing views this is the place to stay. We had a small balcony overlooking the gorge. Downside is there is no air con & it was very hot. They provided us with a fan when we requested one. We had dinner on both nights we stayed & the food is excellent. We had reserved a table for our first night when we booked this hotel so we had the best table on the terrace. Amazing views. If you want a terrace table reserve as the terrace is quite small. They gave us the same table the following evening. We had breakfast on the first morning which was not very good. No meat/cheese vegetable laid out. A girl eventually brought out some plates of cling film covered ham & cheese. Some hard boiled eggs that looked like they had been in the fridge for a few days. There were some pastries & fruit. We were the only people at breakfast

We absolutely loved staying at the Hotel Posada San Jose. The views of Cuenca from our room and from the dining room were priceless and so beautiful! The staff was warm and welcoming and very helpful. You step outside of the hotel and you are within walking distance of all of the lovely sites of the historic center of Cuenca. I loved the "old way" of leaving your big room key at the front desk.

Charming older hotel in the steep streets of old town Cuenca. Beautiful views and nice proprietors. Breakfast was only “so so”. Good restaurant next door for lunch and a good restaurant up a steep hill for breakfast.

This hotel is right on top of everything that a history buff would want to see in Cuenca. We looked out our window and we were on the hanging houses. The walkability is amazing. The staff are excellent.

Really nice small hotel located in Cuenca's historic center just steps from the Cathedral. Great view of the mountains, the Parador and the canyon below. Enjoyed the room with old wooden beams and rustic look. The tasty onsite breakfast for a fee was a bonus since there aren't that many options nearby in winter.

Great hotel, filled with character

The hotel is located in the old town. It's a stunning 300 year old building. The view out our window was absolutely gorgeous. Very large room, great staff. Would absolutely stay there again
