Great location and very good breakfast included

Nice quiet downtown location

Great spot

The property was so lovely and you can tell the owners have put a lot of time into making it modern without being stark or cold. The weekday happy hour was a wonderful way to relax and enjoy some local beer or wine. The breakfasts were delicious, fresh and filling. The property is clean, quiet and conveniently located. I would most definitely visit this gem of a hotel again.

What a great place to golf and stay. Wonderful room with great views. Friendly staff greeting you at every corner and willing to help make our stay a fantastic experience.

Tired hotel. Very poor lighting in room. TV didn’t work at first. Staff quickly addressed it. However shower water goes from cold to very hot thru out. Staff said there was no issue. Happened all three days we were there. Consider other locations instead.

Very small washroom with no space to put anything, not even a shelf to put toiletry bags. The washroom door was very squeaky sounding when being opened and closed. The room was extremely small and the bed frames made so much noise when getting on and off. Hotel although in a great location and in good walking distance to most things, could really use some updating. Would most likely not stay at this hotel again.

Staff was friendly and went above and beyond to help us with an issue we had with something not working in the room. Beds were comfortable and the room was spacious. Nice breakfast in the morning and enjoyed a happy hour that evening.

Hotel quite good, unfortunately sketchy individuals walking the streets close to the hotel.

On and off noise all night like a giant clothes drier. Kept waking room with shaking. Told it was the heat pump. Also only one bath towel.

The Hotel on Pownal is the perfect place to enjoy the beauty of Charlottetown as it’s within walking distance to all the main attractions in the city. The staff is super friendly and the rooms were very nice.

Clean and close to everything in downtown Charlottetown.

Great location. Just few blocks away from the downtown core. While the room is quite spacious, the bathroom would have gained to be a bit bigger.

We stayed 3 nights. Great location. Walkable to restaurants, bars and the waterfront. The standard queen room was large. Very high bed with a couch, fridge. Can do laundry on site for a small fee. Also a gym. The breakfast was fine with a few hot items. Note: This is not a hotel. It is a motel with free parking. It suited us fine. They also offer a manager's reception but only on weeknights. Staff on site were very nice. No elevator so there are stairs. We liked it. It was budget friendly so we could spend more money in the local restaurants. But if you want a hotel and the services that they offer it's probably not for you.

We loved our stay, our room was perfect. Breakfast was excellent.

Pictures look better than actual hotel

We stayed at the hotel on Pownal Street the night of May 16th, 2025 for one night. We appreciated being able to check in early; however, the process felt disorganized. The staff member who greeted us mentioned she was new and didn’t know how to complete the check-in. Meanwhile, several other employees were chatting nearby, but no one stepped in to assist or offer a warm welcome. We paid over $200 for a superior king room. The room itself seemed recently updated and was generally comfortable, but the bathroom had not been renovated to the same standard. The faucet in the shower didn’t seem to work properly, and the toilet was positioned so close to the door that it was awkward to use. There was complimentary coffee and tea available 24/7, which was a nice touch — but unfortunately, there was no milk or creamer provided. We were told to ask the front desk for it, but when we tried, there was no one available. As a result, we had to head downtown instead and didn’t really get the full use of the amenities the hotel offers. Overall, the main appeal of this hotel is its location — it’s within walking distance of the waterfront and everything in downtown Charlottetown. Just be aware that you’re mainly paying for convenience, not necessarily service or comfort.

helpful courteous staff

The key they gave us did not work, when we checked into the room, there was no soap in the washroom and no shower gel in the shower. The eggs in the breakfast was cold and we showed up right at 7 AM on breakfast started, this was not a great experience, unfortunately.
