No staff available. Basically just a room with no amenities. Not for a novice traveler

Staff is very nice as are the rooms basically, but it is on the third floor of an office building. No staff at night at all . Accommodating if you arrive late on day of arrival , but they close at 1:00PM on Sunday . Can’t even store bags after that time.

Very good in the decent basic hotel category. Clean, quite spacious, tea, coffee and an armchair in the room. Pleasant breakfast space. Very well located for both the bus station and the old town. Like many cheaper Finnish hotels, doesn’t have 24-hour desk coverage, though staff when there were efficient and polite.

Breakfast was good, not outstanding. Our room was clean and the sauna was great! Can't beat the location for walking around town and the old part of Borgå. The staff was nice. We had an issue with our room key one evening and could not get in. The desk is not manned in the evening so getting a hold of someone to let us in was difficult but once we made contact they remedied the situation promptly. Make sure you know the proper area code prefixes in Finland so you can make a call when needed! Yes, we would stay there again.

I spent 4 days at Sparre on quiet time early January. The hotel look is a bit old, but everything functions well. Large new TV was a plus. My room didn’t have safety deposit or minibar, so I think they should consider these if they want to upgrade a bit. The room was very quiet. The staff were very friendly and due to these Covid times you could arrange breakfast times with them. The breakfast was tasty and had a lot of options to choose from. I also got a very late checkout for free and it was very nice gesture from them. All in all I had a nice stay and with little improvements it could become even more pleasant.

The breakfast was very disappointing

The only access to the lobby was the hotel elevator that smelled, was filthy, with a large blob of spit on the door. The room was very outdated. The shower was disgusting with a lot of mold and grime. The room smelled bad. There was a loud machine noise all night. There was no "staff." We arrived to a closed, locked lobby at 3:00 pm. After calling security we had to navigate the vile elevator again, found our key on a counter, and found our vile room. This was not even remotely acceptable. Way over priced. Horrendous. A rating of 1 is much too kind.

The hotel is on the third floor of an office building and is fairly standard but I was pleasantly surprised by the wonderfully friendly and helpful staff who really made me feel at home.

Miellyttävä, mukavan pieni ja rauhallinen hotelli. Erittäin hyvä sijainti. Hotelli oli erityisen siisti. Palvelu oli ystävällistä.

Myöhäinen saapuminen hotelliin ohjeistettu hyvin respan jo ollessa kiinni. Huone hieman vielä aluksi. Siisti huone. Aamiainen monipuolinen ja erinomainen. Henkilökunnan palvelu erinomainen

Todella siisti

Huone oli siisti ja sänky mukava, saimme hyvät yöunet. Pieni miinus hiukan kovaäänisestä ilmastoinnista. Huoneessa sai nauttia kupin teetä tai kahvia. Aamiainen oli yksinkertainen, mutta maukas ja oikein riittävä päivän aloitukseen. Kauniit astiat korottavat aamiaisen tunnelmaa.

Helppo ja näppärä hotelli hyvällä sijainnilla. Aamiainen perushyvä. Sisustus kaunis. Ainoa miinus hellepäivänä ilmastoinnin puuttuminen. Onneksi huoneessa oli pylvästuuletin, mutta jouduimme silti nukkua tuuletusikkuna auki, koska lämpötila oli todella korkea ja olo epämukava. Saunavuoro epäreilusti, että ilmeisesti naisille vain tunnin vuoro ja miehille myöhäisempi ja kahden tunnin mittainen.

Yöpyminen ok

Trivsamt hotell med trevlig personal som ligger väldigt centralt. Men… bör undvikas sommartid då det saknas luftkonditionering och rummen är olidligt varma. Fönster går att öppna men då får man lyssna på trafik hela natten samt att det knappt hjälpte mot värmen
