As a visually impaired single person i was a little worried, but i needn’t have been . Staff were courteous and helpful as soon as i walked in. Very pleased with room, plenty of space bright and airy, shower a little small, however ok, good water flow and hot. Breakfast buffet style, excellent choice, felt comfortable being on my own (very important) . Had excellent stay , will be back , thank-you everyone

The room was nice & clean, we were in room 1 which had peeling wall paper & a dripping tap. No air conditioning but asked for a fan which was provided. The breakfast was Buffett style & very nice the food was a choice on Indian & some English dishes which I chose Fish & chips which were awful. Soggy frozen fish & chips that were frozen. I mentioned when laying & the young girl said I agree with you about the fish & I shouldn’t say that as I work here. You always get a service charge added. The cook was obviously having a stressful time as they were told no more orders & it wasn’t even busy.

We enjoyed our stay at the Lion Hotel the room was clean and we had a good view of the castle. The staff were polite and helpful and the Welsh breakfast was fresh and plentiful. The bay at Criccieth is lovely, calm warm water and beautiful scenery. We even saw dolphins in the distance.

The hotel is in a lovely location in the centre of Criccieth. An easy walk to both the castle and the David Lloyd George museum, home and grave. We had no trouble finding a parking slot in their free car park. Very comfortable bed. Best chips ever with our evening meal! Good hot and cold buffet breakfast, with toast made to order. Staff were all welcoming and helpful. It took us while to find room 37. Followed signs up and down a long corridor and finally found it on another level, through fire doors and down a few steps! I'd have no hesitation staying at The Lion again.

Really nice place, clean room and helpful staff! My only issue was that it was quite noisy being in an apartment under creaky floorboards above. Breakfast was good :)

No complaints Can be a bit noisy if you get a room above the bar where people sit/stand outside

A great hotel, located with a view across to the Castle. The staff were great and the hotel had a nice fresh feel about it with new paint and furniture mixing with furniture to match the period of such a grand building. Great that we could charge the car too. Breakfast was good and the evening meals were well cooked and presented

Excellent breakfast to set you up for the day. The evening menu is a bit limited if you don't like Indian. We missed the small size meals which were suitable for older people. Very clean bedrooms and communal areas. Staff very helpful. Stayed here many times. Our favorite place in Criccieth.

Superior room not up to standard- pressure in shower terrible, tired shower cubicle. Soft and sunken mattress, dirty vet too heavy for time of year and room very hot , unable to open windows beyond a small gap. That said check in easy, breakfast staff chatty. Breakfast was good and plentiful, we found the coffee fine despite a previous comment. Shame no muesli/bean based. Just needs some tlc. We had a quiet room

Lion Hotel has everything we required for our weeks stay. An excellent varied evening menu offering choices of both Indian and English dishes. The buffet breakfast offered all the usual fair which the staff constantly kept topped up. Our double room was spacious with clean en-suite facilities. All the hotel staff were pleasant and willing to help you in anyway they could. The bottom line is, yes we would be happy to stay at The Lion Hotel again.

Room was clean, bathroom could have been cleaner, soap and shampoo in the bathroom was very watery and the TV remote was sticky? Hotel generally was clean, staff are a great strength of this hotel. I was told on arrival that dinner was fully booked until 20:00 so if you want to eat here book in advance. I ended up eating elsewhere. Breakfast was good. Overall a good hotel, I would stay here again

I want to commend the staff at the buffet breakfast. They were all always on the lookout for items running out on the extensive buffet, and replenishing supplies as necessary.

Awful, from start to finish. Check-in we booked a premium sea view king size bed room. We were given a king size room, tiny, dark, window view of the back of some metal staircase and carpark (no sea view). The woman deputy manager was completely dismissive and blamed the “online apps”, also said “you can’t have booked a room that premium just a few days before”, “hotel only has 35rooms so my hands tied”, then after pushing we managed to get a better view, but a significantly smaller bed, none premium, leaking bath, mould in bathroom. But I had no choice but to accept this. We complained to the woman deputy manager who said “10% off eating here is all I can offer”. Then eventually 20%. We booked to eat at the Ruby restaurant which we have to admit the food was stunning, compliments to the chef. Waitress was a lovely girl. On paying, the deputy manager waltzed in and tried to give a 15% discount. On complaining we sorted it. I really feel the chaos was down to this deputy manager. We met 5 other rooms who said they did not get the room they booked. This can’t be an accident. The others had complaints of mould, room wasn’t cleaned when they arrived, refused a fan as it’s “not allowed”. One family explained the hotel had changed hands and since it has become horrendous. So all the nice reviews we saw were under the previous management and staff. Breakfast was a joke! Run out of buffet items, run of plates once the food arrived, kitchen staff not to blame, it’s management
