it was good for a quick stop over. the location took away from the beauty of this riad. the riad was amazing and the family that owned it were truly great.

We were redirected to Riad Dar Sara upon arrival. The above rating I provide is for Riad dar Sara. If you are booking Riad dar Aicha and are trying to find it on foot bear in mind that it is in a dead end lane. To find it locate Riad Larouse on the main street, turn left just past it (on your left) and then left again. You can ask for directions at the reception in Riad Larouse.

We booked this hotel as a cheap winter break and it fulfilled this role very well. It was clean and pretty, and although our room was quite small, the bed was incredibly comfy!! The Riad was well maintained and had a lovely roof terrace, although in December, this was mostly enjoyed with some extra layers on. The staff spoke very little English, and nearly all communication was in French, but they were lovely and helpful and couldn't do enough. Breakfast was 'continental Morocco' style with freshly squeezed orange juice, coffee or mint tea as required and plenty bread/jam/eggs - it was the same every day, but tasty nonetheless. It was a little cold in the Riad - our room had a heater and was fine, but at breakfast, a big jumper was required. As long as you are prepared for this in the winter months, this did not detract from the break. There were extra features available which was not evident from the Expedia website - they are part of a group called Marrakesh Riads and offer excursions, hamman visits and bookings at their restaurants Dar Cherifa and Dar Zellij. 1 free airport transfer is included and I'd recommend this on arrival as the Riad would not be easily found without help! (Although the location was fine, once we'd found our way around) We ate in the Riad on two occasions - the food was excellent and easily compared with other places we went to in Marrakesh. You have to give advance notice if you want to eat in, but I'd definitely recommend this.

Dar Aicha Riad was an excellent choice. It is a small Riad with only three rooms, two on the first floor and one on the basement. I stayed on the basement one which was a little bit small but cosy. I would think that both rooms upstairs will be better, as the kitchen is downstairs, just opposite the basement room and it could get noisy in the morning. I was already awaken by the time our host was there to make us breakfast, so no problem for me. My room didn't have air-conditioning, but if you ask you may get a fan. Overall, my stay was great in this little Riad and I would recommend it to anyone who wishes a little bit of serenity and quietness in the Medina.
