The best breakfast buffet ever. The choices were plentiful and varied for everyone

Breakfast was fresh and had variety. James from the Ibeza pool restaurant was the standout star of the week. We resided in room 1406 and encountered a few minor issues, but knowing that we could see his welcoming and genuine smile made it worthwhile. We visited him every day. He was exceptionally warm, accommodating, and very informative. He will be the primary reason for our return. The ambiance and fragrance of the lobby were simply relaxing. Thank you, James and the RIU Panama team. We will definitely return.

El hotel está súper bien ubicado sobre Calle 50. Sin embargo las instalaciones están un poco viejas y podrían verse algunos insectos. Está próximo a necesitar una remodelación.

First time in Panama City and could not have had a better experience in part due to the staff and management at the Riu hotel. The hotel, room, location, and especially the staff were incredible. The view from the room is unbelievable, unmatched in my experience. The amenities were world class. The breakfast was delicious, fresh, and diverse. I can’t wait to visit the other locations, but we will be back in Panama City undoubtedly. Excellent service and experience. Would recommend to all!

Great place to stay, great staff, I had a good time in the hotel itself

This is was my second time staying because I was impressed from the first time. Definitely my go to hotel when traveling to Panama. Thank you for having me.

Overall a good place to stay, excellent and friendly staff, great variety of tasty food, spacious rooms. misses small details such as providing robes, disposable flip-flops, kettles for tea.

I had an incredible stay at Hotel Riu Plaza Panama with my family. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. What truly stood out was how accommodating and attentive the hotel was when it came to our family’s allergies. This is something we take very seriously, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure we felt safe and comfortable throughout our stay. That level of care made a huge difference for us. The staff overall were exceptional—friendly, professional, and always willing to help. The food was delicious, and the breakfast buffet was especially impressive with a wide variety of options to suit everyone. And the drinks? Generous, well-made, and definitely not lacking in alcohol! Everything about our stay felt thoughtful and high-quality. I would absolutely recommend this hotel and would happily stay here again. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The room is cleaned well, especially the shower but the amenities are tired, the connection for the HDMI etc built in for the tv doesn’t work, there are no slippers or robes (considering this meant to be a 5 star hotel this isn’t crazy demanding) and the don’t have plates, cutlery etc in the room nor do they change your one mug, the cleaners will wash it in your sink. The biggest room issue though is the noise cancelling. To the street (very busy) it’s good. Internal to the hotel it’s terrible, you hear the corridor and the rooms next door unacceptably clearly to the point it does wake you up. There are quiet floors although I found out about this too late, maybe this is better and worth asking for if you’re noise sensitive (or to be honest in general). The breakfast is very good though, there is a wide and changing selection and the quality is very good for the volume of people, literally hundreds eating at the same time - it’s a big hotel. The lifts can be a problem, there are 3 for the hotel (others for the residences) and it can take a while for the to come and they can be full when they do. Especially around peak times of breakfast etc.

This is not a flexible or even very reasonable hotel. We bought 2 rooms, one with 3 people and one with 2 people at the same price. We needed to add someone to the 2 person room. It was very difficult to get in contact with the front desk and they were not transparent. We get to the front desk after contacting them and they charge us 20% more for another person in the room. They told us their might be a fee, but it looked like they had a non-negotiable policy. It was so misleading. And then unreasonable because we paid more to have a third person in a room when we bought another room with three people for less. Then, the front desk was not correct in checking us in and we were locked out of rooms and the elevators twice. They don't post their rules so people will paternalistically correct behavior you have no way of knowing it's protocol. Like you can eat by the pool, but you can't eat outside food by the pool. I had the worst margarita in my life by the pool so I can't say I'd recommend using that. Breakfast was decent, but if you ask the staff for help, I did not find them helpful.

Nice hotel. Housekeeping staff could do a better job at cleaning. Living room couch needs upgrade in order to be more comfortable.
