we called called it the bates hotel on the beach...and our room was the redroom from the shining... mold in bathrrom...ac didnt work...way overpriced....they are removating...so get a new room...ole rooms have a key that is not safe so lock your stuff in the safe..breakfast buffet and bar is good...dinner we avoided...good location to visit the ruins...door to room is a deathtrap in casenof fire....

Very run down compared to last stay here 12years ago, a shame was a nice hotel but needs a lot spent on it, only thing going for it is it’s on a beach.

Excellent venue for sun, sea and archaeological sites. Walk out directly on a very clean sandy beach. Convenient underground parking. Rooms were comfortable, functional, if a little sterile. Beautiful restaurant, draped in bougainvillea. Fixed price daily lunch and dinner menu, which was reasonably priced, but quite bland and rather rushed. Clientele is mostly elderly German and that may explain the menu choice. Seafood is from a frozen source [where?] and not fresh, which is a disappointment for southern Italy. I spent three nights at the hotel and will stay there again, but may skip the restaurant.

The best about this hotel it is a seafront location. The best rooms are rooms with balconies facing the sea. We could not figure out how AC works. Also, it is very strict 11 am check out time and you can't have the beach umbrella and chair on your check out day, keep this in mind. it is a very nice beach and swimming experience. Overall we had a good stay.

The beach is beautiful. The lounge area is good. The dining area is nice. The rooms and the carpet is disgusting. It is in great need of updating. There was a very bad smell in the carpet that we could not get rid of.

Rooms are a little dated but the hotel is comfortable. Ideal for long walk along the beach or if you prefer to laze around the beach.

We had a nice stay but they were not well stocked in the bar and the drain in our shower did not work. Also the place seemed a little disheveled during the off-season. We were one of only three rooms in use at the moment so definitely minimal usage going on at the moment. The staff were great though and Bruno helped us with some drinks when we came back from dinner. Overall I would come again but during the regular season for sure. The beach is the main selling point here.

Checking in was easy, reception services were great, staff is helpful and kind, organized services for beach usage, room is spacious, location is quiet

Lovely hotel on the beach with very helpful staff. Very good Southern Italian cuisine prepared with locally sourced products. Highly recommended.

Staff was very friendly and accomodating. This place doesn't look like the big 5-star places but is just as nice (nicer if it had a pool too but the beach was clean and water clear. Very comfortable. Clean.

As two of only four guests in the off-season (January), my wife and I were extremely happy with our choice of the Schumann. Rooms were large and comfortable with space heaters provided for the winter guests. Balcony side rooms offer a beautiful view of the Mediterranean. It sits directly on the beach with easy access to the water. Great staff and terrific service.

We have been to this hotel at least five times. It is right on a very nice, sandy beach near the Greek ruins at Paestum. We always get the half-board as there are not many restaurants nearby and the food has always been of a good standard with a decent wine list. The rooms overlooking the beach are very nice as there are balconies and you can leave the balcony doors open all night and sleep to the sound of the surf. The staff are very nice and helpful and there is undercover parking available free. Also free wifi in every room.

Really nice spot right onto the beach. We had lovely sea views. We were obviously there in low season so dinner was fixed menu but really nice, breakfast much better than standard Italian. Staff very welcoming. German seemed to be the alternative to Italian language. Little or no English spoken. We visited to include tour of Paestum which is a couple of km inland - we were offered bikes, which was helpful. Underground garage parking to keep the car cool! Marked down because out of season surrounding beach areas unkempt and unappetising. In summer it will probably be very busy.

This Hotel was very nice in all ways except the carpet throughout needs to be replaced. It is very clean and staff is extremely friendly. The outside is kept very well, from the gardens to the immaculate beach but inside the carpeting, although vacumed it is matted, faded and old. We would probably go back because of the lovely people and magnificent beach view and incredible location to Paestum.

Rahmen des Fensters etwas wackelig (Sensoren haben keinen Kontakt, um das Klima anzupassen). Bad sehr sehr eng. Freundlich Mitarbeiter…. Teilweise am Frühstück die Tische sind zu schnell aufgeräumt: man hat nicht die Chance kurz aufzustehen, dass alles wird weg gebracht und man muss das Essen neu holen. Das Frühstück ist gut, besonders die Mozzarella und Ricotta. Scrumbled Eier fast nur verbrannt. Also wir waren zufrieden ja, aber an einem 4 Sterne sollte es nicht passieren. Das Haus ist von außen sehr gepflegt und hat Charme.

Excellent séjour, dommage que le site d'hôtel.com ne précisait pas que la chambre donne sur un toit goudronné. Le personnel était exceptionnel. La chambre aurait pu être plus propre, mais avec si peu de femmes de ménage ce n'est pas étonnant, elles faisaient ce qu'elles pouvaient. Le propriétaires ne sont pas vraiment très sympa, ce n'est que la veille du départ que nous avons eu le droit à un bonjour du patron et d'un sourire de la patronne. La cuisine : très bonne, la plage : superbe. Il serait pratique d'avoir une voiture, car il n'y a vraiment rien à côté.
