I like the area, near the city centre. I like the breakfast. Staff were wonderful. The only problem was the smell of food in my room.

Lovely weekend stay! The room was lovely and although fairly small it had everything we needed for hanging up clothes and an ample supply of tea and coffee. The en-suite was also great with a good shower. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and checking in late on the Friday night was no issue. Hotel location was also very good, just a short walk to the centre of York. The parking at the hotel was also very convenient - it’s worth doing a google satellite view of the hotel to find the parking as it could be a bit confusing. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a visit to York.

Such a wonderful place to stay. Extremely helpful and polite staff. Great information pack in the rooms about the hotel with a little humour thrown in. Immaculately clean and great amenities in the rooms. Close to the centre of York so a great location for walking into the centre. Would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely return.

We have stayed at Hedley House many times this time choosing the Deluxe Double booked via Hotels.com. The rooms have recently been refurbished and were even better than we expected. Staff members were as warm & welcoming as always. We will definitely return again

What a great place to stay. We highly recommend it! Breakfast was excellent. Christina, our breakfast waitress was outstanding. Lots of breakfast choices. The breakfast room was very nice and the table in the window bay was special. Our room was spacious, and the kitchen amenities were complete. There was a small table where we could sit looking on the back garden. The bathroom was also spacious and well done. The decor in the condition of everything was amazing given the age of the building. Someone has worked really hard to maintain it so well. The lobby area had good seating and a variety. And it was neat that they had a bar where you could get a beer or a drink sitting right there. The location of Hedley house worked so well for us. Within an easy walking distance of a grocery, The Shambles, the York Minster, the national Railroad Museum, and a variety of other things to do. We look forward to returning here and staying at Hedley House again!

This hotel has such a lovely homely and cosy vibe, the staff were really friendly and welcoming. Room was extremely spacious and very comfy beds. Breakfast was additional £8 which we'd recomend. One of us was vegan and they had plenty on offer with porridge, dairy free milks, chocolate spread, sausages ect.

Good location, size of room (no3) and bathroom, warm, friendly hosts.

The room was lovely, and our stay massively exceeded our expectations including an evening dip in the hot tub and then using the hotel bar for games. The staff made everything that much more special for my girlfriend (now fiancé) birthday and for our engagement during our stay too to put the extra special touches in. We will definitely be returning to stay again!

The room was perfect, staff were really friendly and helpful. Nice little bar on site. Parking on site and perfectly situated for the city only a 10 min walk. We would definitely stay again.

Staff were busy and distracted, bathroom extractor was noisy and broken no issues as this happens, room i had this time was tired and not as warm as i would have liked ( it was cold that night though) went to use the gym but couldnt because the gym is obviously subtracted out and the yoga woman had a private session on which was annoying as no mention of this, i wonder if the hotel know she does this? The main reason i booked here was my last experience was great and the fact it does have a gym. They should state it is limited use and times as i would have stopped somewhere else.

Excellent stay at Hedley House. Easy walk from train station and to York Center. Stay was great and room was very comfortable. We recommend staying here on your trip to York.
