I had a wonderful stay at the HB Xalapa. The staff was very friendly and professional. Despite being next to a busy road, the room was surprisingly quiet. The bed was amazing! I really slept well in and the room itself was well apportioned. The only reason I did not give top marks was because the WiFi was poor - I could not a consistent and stable connection and had to use data on my phone and give up trying to use my computer. For such a lovely hotel, it would have been nice to have a small fridge in the room but other than those 2 things I was very satisfied with my stay.

I stay regularly at this hotel and I generally have a great experience. However on this occasion I had an issue... Stayed for two nights, first night they had to change the room they offered since the door lock was not working and had to walk back to reception twice before being offered a room with a working door. Second night, after a long day of work, I was locked out of my room for over 40 minutes since the door lock was not working. They did not have a sense of urgency to resolve the matter, and once of their offers was to put me in another room for the night (without my belongins) which I found completely ridiculous. I'll stay again there since I have history, but if it was the first experience in the hotel it would have definitely been the last.

I did not like the lack of enthusiasm to promote tourism in the state. I arrived on a Thursday and I called the front desk to change the light in the bathroom on Sunday, I left almost a week later (Wednesday) morning and the light was still burned out.
