We absolutely loved staying with Francesca and her family at Podere Sette Piagge. The location was ideal. While we ventured out during the day we made sure to return for a swim in the pool with wine and snacks. The property is beautiful and welcoming. Francesca organized a wine tasting with lunch and taught a cooking class where we made pasta and enjoyed a wonderful dinner. Francesca is attentive and kind. She went above and beyond in anticipating our needs and making us feel special. We were truly sad to leave.

A Peaceful Countryside Retreat with Spectacular Views ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Let’s start with the most important part: the view is absolutely breathtaking! This peaceful countryside house is located in a quiet, secluded spot with no nearby neighbors — perfect for those seeking calm and nature. It’s nestled between a small hiking trail and the main road, and while it’s located in lower Orvieto, keep in mind you’ll need to drive or walk about 20 minutes uphill to reach upper Orvieto, where most of the attractions are. Worth knowing in advance! As for the stay itself — the family-run staff was wonderful. They helped me arrange a round-trip taxi at 9PM and were always smiling, helpful, and genuinely kind. Truly the highlight of the experience. The rooms are simple but charming, with an authentic rustic feel. Clean and comfortable enough for a countryside stay — nothing fancy, but nothing lacking either. Breakfast was a delightful surprise: included in the price and full of variety — fresh croissants, cheeses, cold cuts, spreads, eggs made on the spot, and a variety of self-serve coffee options. A generous and satisfying start to the day. With such a great price, warm hospitality, and peaceful surroundings, I wholeheartedly recommend staying here if you’re exploring the Orvieto area.

Our family stayed in the little cottage and it felt like we stepped into a fairytale. Francesca took such good care of us. The breakfast was amazing, the path up to old town was magical. The entire stay was enchanting. I wish we could have stayed longer and look forward to one day coming back to that little piece of heaven on earth.

What a wonderful and peaceful stay! This was a welcome respite toward the end of our journey through Italy, and the perfect “calm before the storm” before we ended our trip in the bustle of Rome. The minute we arrived we wished we had booked another night. Wonderful hospitality, beautiful views, lovely roses - what’s not to love?

Staying at Podere Sette Piagge has been our favorite experience in Italy so far. The family that owns the bed & breakfast are fantastic hosts. Their guidance and recommendations greatly enriched our visit to Orvieto. After expressing our interest in history, the owners even connected us with an archaeologist friend of theirs who gave us a private tour of ancient Etruscan caves! During our stay we enjoyed the beautiful grounds and comfortable accommodations as well as the delicious included breakfast featuring local fresh baked goods (best croissants we have ever had!!!) and made to order espresso beverages. Bedroom and private bathroom were very clean, and every staff member we encountered was wonderfully kind and provided excellent service. Although a stay at this gorgeous property is incredible in and of itself, the above and beyond efforts of the owners and staff transformed our stay from a mere visit to a truly immersive experience of Italian culture and history. Thank you Podere Sette Piagge!!! We will be returning!!!
