Great apartment and location. Very close to the beach and plenty of restaurants. 10 min. walking to the bus stop to go to Heraklion or airport. Recommend to stay.

We loved our stay at Ourania Apartments. Service was great, staff were super friendly and helpful. The apartments we stayed in were slightly older but still fine. We had a lovely big balcony which was amazing. I think there are also newer apartments in the same complex which look much more modern which would be ideal for our next stay. The apartments are only a short walk from the beach and restaurants so location was perfect! Couldnt have been happier in terms of value for money - couldnt believe how little we paid for 5 nights! I would recommend!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ourania Apartments. The complex is very picturesque with a beautiful pool, the staff are lovely and extremely hospitable, the location is perfect (being less than 5 minuets from the beach and wonderful restaurants), and we especially loved the wild cats that roamed the area. The apartments themselves, although are very basic and fairly bare, are kept very clean and bedsheets and towels are replaced regularly, and have all the basic necessities for comfortable living. There is no real faulting Ourania — although I would say for future guests — be wary of hidden fees for things that seemed to be advertised as included but in fact come at a cost i.e air conditioning, safe, etc.

Second stay. Would book again. Quiet. Good location. Close to sea, bakery, restaurants and supermarkets.

It was perfect for a family of 5. The price was right. The staff was always there when we needed anything. Plus they had security at night, but you didn’t feel as if you needed it.

We had at wonderful stay at the Ourania apartments with our young family, the staff were very helpful and the apartments were immaculate, i would highly recommend these apartments and I look forward to returning in the future,thank you Kostas and your lovely staff!

Room was a bit on the small size in the living area with only 2 ring elec hob for cooking (studio appts very cramped) but an ideal base when only really using room for sleeping. Rest of complex was good inc bar/catering, staff excellent and reasonable choice of bars and eating places within 15 mins walk (as was the beach). Pool area was big enough for us when going out of season

The hotel consists of an enclosed compound with about two dozen individual apartments arranged around a few courtyards and laneways. It really feels like a charming, immaculately kept hamlet. It is also great value, but be aware that air conditioning is an extra 6 Euros per day. WiFi is free at the pool and bar, but that also costs extra to have in your room. The complex does not have a private beach front. You stroll about 5 minutes along a country lane to get to a small but charming beach with beautiful surf. It feels like the Greek version of visiting my grand mother's place. It also felt "authentically" Greek, at least relative to the image of a charming Greek village in my mind's eye.

Apartment good for a short stay. Nearby tavernas, Island bar the best. The area of Gouves not great, you need a car. Buses go past but if they are full you have to wait 30 mins+ for the chance of another that also maybe full.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Ourania Apartments. The apartments are set well back from the main road from Heraklion and close to beaches, small shops. supermarkets, restaurants, car hire etc. Well kept gardens. Nice to find a kettle and toaster at the apartments. Requested not to use tap water in the kettle etc so required to buy bottled water but very cheap at local supermarkets. No hairdryer, cloth, tea towel or washing up liquid in the apartment but soap in the bathroom. Milos restaurant is very good (only complaint - portions too big). Bus stop 13 on main road in walking distance - easy to travel to and from airport, to Heraklion town, to Hersonissos and bus available from Heraklion Bus Garage to visit ancient Minoan ruins at Knossos. Breakfast available at the bar cafe and salads till early afternoon (both very good). Timing of our stay was nearing the end of the season and the local shops were very quiet/some had closed down already but still 'all happening' in Hersonissos and Heraklion shopping areas. Would recommend staying at Ourania Apartments.

Gardens, swimming pool area, bar area and rooms kept very clean. Bed linen and towels changed very frequently. Roads around are rough but not far to bus stop, sea front and shops and tavernas. Everyone very friendly. Car parking. Free WiFi. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Suites are nicely set out, in a villa-like arrangement, and the pool area is nice. Sadly, there is no internet in the room, and though it has a kitchenette and sitting area, the layout is uninspiring and there are nearly no decorative touches, giving the place a drab feel. No shower curtain so the whole bathroom gets wet when you shower, a pet peeve of mine. Still, the price was excellent and it technically is a suite with kitchenette, so if you don't need internet in the room it could be a great deal.

Good value hotel 10 mins from the beach and from bars and restaurants in Kato Gouves. Friendly staff, pool bar with good access to wifi. Always clean and pleasant and quiet by the pool.
