⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Peaceful, Relaxing Stay – Highly Recommend Pros: * Quiet, laid-back atmosphere (never crowded) * Clean, spacious rooms with very comfortable beds * Strong WiFi throughout the property * Two clean, well-maintained pools * Friendly, responsive staff (easy communication via WhatsApp) * On-site restaurant with great options (pizza, octopus, burgers, breakfast) * Hammocks outside rooms – perfect for relaxing * Convenient airport shuttle (with optional grocery stop) * Dock access for boat pickups/excursions * Great spa services Cons: * Located outside the main town (golf cart needed to explore) * Beach affected by sargassum at times (common across the island) Summary: X’tan Ha Resort is perfect if you’re looking for a peaceful, relaxing stay away from busy crowds. The property is well maintained, the staff is excellent, and the overall experience is stress-free and comfortable. While it’s a bit outside town, that actually adds to the quiet vibe. We’d absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it—especially for couples or anyone looking to unwind on Ambergris Caye.

X'Tan Ha far exceeded our expectations & the photos we saw before arrival. The staff is lovely, room was well appointed, pools sparkling, overwater bar is dreamy, food & drinks delicious. It is seaweed season, but they cleaned it off the beach all day long so it was clear & water was gorgeous. We plan to return as soon as we can. A prefect vacation!

This is a beautiful resort; the casitas we stayed in were just wonderful (with potable water provided)! Very friendly and helpful staff; appreciated. Also appreciated that there was an office of TuffENuff onsite to book our snorkeling trip. Downside: There's only one restaurant (and we really enjoyed eating on the pier) and no other restaurants nearby. One can order pizza and other items from restaurants in San Pedro, but the delivery fees are very high. And the cab fare to/from town is ridiculously high. There was a power outage on the last day of our stay It happened around 8 AM. First we were told power would be back on by 10 AMM, then by 4 PM, then by 10 PM, but each of these times came and went with no power. Staying inside was impossible, as there was no AC. While I understand that having a generator for each building may be cost prohibitive, I strongly suggest to the owners of the resort that they invest in one for the reception building so that guests could cool of in a scenario like this. I don't expect to pay more than $200 a night for a room that I can't use!

Pros: Beautiful property with grounds well kept; lovely pools kept clean with plenty of loungers, complimentary kayaks, paddle boards, snorkeling gear and beach towels to use at the resort; over the water bar area where you could also dine, but we had to order inside the restaurant first. Concierge was helpful. Having a Seaside Villa was extra nice and it was a perfect size. Air conditioning worked great. Very quiet resort. Cons: FAR from everything else. To enjoy the island you will need to rent a golf cart, which they offer at the resort, but at a premium price. We found a golf cart rental which was delivered and picked up at the hotel for or more reasonable price. The road to town was horrible, full of pot holes which made it slow and painful. Road in closer to San Pedro were nicer, so you could avoid the extremely bumpy ride if your were nearer. The beach was full of Sea Grass so we really could not swim there, or walk on the beach at the resort. The island and the resort did not have long stretches of beach to just go for a walk either. Not a very nice restaurant, breakfast was decent, but dinner was just ok. Restaurant staff did not really seem to enjoy serving you. Breakfast doesn't start until 8am but for most excursions you have to leave before that so we missed a couple that we paid to have included. Bed was very mushy. Overall it was fine, but we would try something different if we went back to Ambergris Caye.

Breakfast was great and included in our package. Bed was not comfortable, it could use updating. The beach would have been great but the sargasm was awful and we both got sick from it. Its about 7 miles north of you are looking for peace and quiet this is it! All in all a nice small retreat

My Fiancé and I stayed at X Tan Ha the week of 4/11-4/18/2026. This place is awesome, they take care of all your travel details for tours, shuttles and water taxi or the island hopper flights. We rented a golf cart (strongly suggested) from a company called One Love golf cart rentals at a very reasonable price for the week. The staff goes out of their way to ensure your vacation is top notch. Our only disappointment (not on X Tan Ha) was the sea grass was making the beach smell like rotten eggs and the crystal blue water was not close on the windward side of the Island. You have to go to the Lee ward side of the island like to Secret Beach and Mystico Beach (also strongly recommended). The sea grass was not present 2-3 days before we arrived. We recommend gold cart trips into San Pedro. All in all we would stay here again if we came back to Belize. The beaches and snorkeling were next level. Recommend the Shark Ray alley tour also.

We had a fantastic stay at X’tan Ha. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The food at the restaurant was delicious. The pools are clean and relaxing. The beach crew did a great job of keeping the beach clean. It is the perfect location in our opinion.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was great and amenities in great shape. Unfortunately the Sargassum on the beach was too thick. But the staff worked endlessly to clear it. A never ending battle. Lots of local restaurants to explore and it's nice to be away from town if you want a more peaceful experience

The staff are friendly and eager to assist you with anything you need. The resort is very far north of town and the ride is not easy. The beach was unusuable due to Sargassum. We were there for 3 nights and only once did we see a couple of young men trying to clear the beach but they made ZERO impact. The smell is awful. The accommodations are dark and dated. We stayed in a 2 bedroom 1 bath second floor unit. My kids said the smaller bedroom was like a prison cell. Very dark and bland and yes, there was a window. The master bedroom King size bed had an extremely soft foam mattress that I could to sleep on. I swapped with my son and slept in the prison cell. Haha The restaurant was OK. Breakfast was good. Lunch was meh. Never had dinner there.

The hotel staff were fantastic and the view was beautiful. It was quite a ways from San Pedro town which limited dining options for us. The staff booked us a reservation at Mambo with a driver or boat pickup depending on the weather. The breakfast was good but very few options for dinner at the onsite restaurant. If I could do it again, I would rent a golf cart in town for the duration of our stay and book tours that picked us up at the resort dock.

I had an amazing stay. The shuttle service, the room, the staff— ALL great. Everyone I encountered was so very polite and respectful, which I very much appreciate. The room was clean and spacious enough for me, there was a decently sized water jug for drinking (yay), perfectly working tv, freezing cold A/C to combat the heat / humidity, and beautiful balcony. The only complaint I have is about the third-party restaurant. This obviously doesn’t reflect on the resort directly but it’s still important to note, especially if you’re a solo female traveler. After checking in and putting my bags down, the very first thing I did was walk over to the restaurant / bar to have a virgin piña colada and enjoy the view. I was looking forward to sitting in silence and decompressing a bit after traveling so long. But of course, that’s not always possible if a man is around and you’re a woman sitting by herself. I wasn’t even at the resort an hour before the bartender asked for my instagram and made small talk even though I was doing my best to give the hint that I didn’t want to be bothered……. IYKYK. Frustrating and not conducive to a relaxing and peaceful environment, especially if I know I would be returning to that restaurant throughout the trip. First thought / feeling when I wanted to go to the restaurant after that was that anxious anticipation of whether I’ll run into him or not. I want to emphasize that he wasn’t rude or overly aggressive or anything, but that’s not the point.

Beatiful ocean front property with a bar on the water. It's secluded about 30 mins out of town. So perfect for a quite lounge on the beach or swim in the ocean.
