Room was in need of refurbishment. Peeling paint, loose toilet seat,wonky doors and cupboards. Bed linen was clean but the curtains need more hooks and general cleaning was not good. We asked to change room for a shower but we're told fully booked but ours was the only car in the car park??? Would not recommend to anyone 😕

The requested room was an ensuite, it had a toilet and bath , no shower which might be problematic for some. The room didn't have a fan which meant I had to have the windows open all night which was noisy. I paid for a basic room and that's what I got.

Staff were very helpful.made to feel welcome. Food excellent, however no heating in room. It was freezing in my room and room 6 were I stayed was right above noisy bar. Don't stay in this room. Old and outdated room. Overall for stay 6/10.

I had a wonderful stay at The Kings Arms Inn. I visited for two nights for a wedding in the local area and didn't expect much from this last minute booking but the room was just what I needed, clean and comfortable. The staff were welcoming and I had no issues with my stay. I also brought some of the group for some food at the pub and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Definitetly would recommend and would stay again :)

Its an old thatched pub and the room shape and conditions reflect that - sloping floors and wonky walls but the bedding , towels etc were clean and fresh. Rooms are above the bar so not quiet until the pub closes. Pub downstairs is friendly and has a good atmosphere with plenty of choice behind the bar. They serve food but I didn't try any so can't comment on that. Reasonably large attached car park although theres no covered area or anything to chain a motorcycle to.

Basic accommodation in very old building but knew what to expect. Staff very friendly. Food lovely

Parking was good. On arrival my booking had changed, the staff were more than welcoming and accommodating of my needs and could not have been more helpful. Bed comfortable. Dogs allowed which was a bonus to me. Shower in room but only had a curtain as access and no toilet in room. Room had been changed to accommodate other needs so no complaints. Lovely food in the pub.

Very comfortable stay and great value for money. The inn is old and charmingly rustic, the rooms are quite basic, but are perfectly comfortable, the staff are friendly and the location is great for Exeter visits.

Stayed here for one night and had a meal. Went for sausage and mash, the sausages were the cheapest tasting sausages I’ve ever tried, even worse than chip shop sausages, there was so little taste that I had to ask for some mint sauce to get some flavour! I left an expensive pillow there, tried calling the pub the morning to say I’d pick it up in a couple of days as I was going to stay again however when they eventually answered the phone they told me that the cleaner had thrown it out. Why they did not just contact me when they realised a guest had left something before throwing other people’s items in the bin I do not know.

Busy pub they had live music on the night which was so loud the room was shaking. Noise from the road. Toilet seat was loose. Electric shower was leaking.

Bar staff polite and friendly, room a bit dated needs a bit of tlc. Tea and coffee with biscuits in room, breakfast was ok sausages dry and overcooked streaky bacon fatty hot drinks not hot and toast came out later cold and hard, the guy that served us wasn't the friendliest or very polite.

General room, Bedding and towels clean. Deep set dirt though due to desperate need of refurb. Black mould round shower glass, broken shower hose, perished plug for sink. Be prepared if you want an early night - you hear noise of pub till gone midnight but I didn’t have issue with that. Quirky room with sloped floor. Staff were great and food excellent, so for £40 for a night was ok in my book!

Room in an old country inn. Room fairly basic but fine for a night or two. Close enough to Exeter to be accessible. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Would stay again if in the area.

Room 1 was a disgrace. 1 hanger in wardrobe, only 1 easy chair, 1 bed table light not working. Sink plug didn’t retain water, towel rail broken. Electric powered hot water pathetic. This room is nothing like the ones shown on your website. At checkout just a cleaner around, doors were locked and we were expected to go out the back door and climb at least 10 steps to the top of the car park and round to the side door. When I pointed out my wife used a walking stick the cleaner opened the side door.

Staff are really friendly and helpful but the accommodation is very poor it's not just that the rooms are tired and need a revamp it's the lack of cleanliness the shower wasn't clean and significant amounts of mould around tray etc and windows and dirt and dust around room and the mattress was absolutely worn out ,breakfast wasn't the best either wasn't given a choice well apart from tea or coffee full English it is !

I was kept awake by loud music that finished at 01.00 in the morning, not happy !!! Glad of the small electric heater in the room was the weather was cold. The bathroom could do with some attention, The bed was comfortable glad of the extra blanket.
