3 times I told the hotel via Expedia that my husband would check into the hotel before me because I was arriving very late (after midnight). The hotel did not welcome or acknowledge my request, nor did it respond. I have the feeling that the messages to / from me and the hotel via Expedia are not actually helpful. We have been going to the same hotel for probably 10 years when in Salvador, but they always act like we are strangers.

I have to say I was somewhat disappointed in the hotel. The location was fairly good. The buffet breakfast was not great but hard to say what I was expecting from Salvador but overall, I give it a five or six out of 10. The seals and all the windows were blown out. The windows were gray and foggy, and the room smelled damp and wet. We had to move one of our guests or fellow travelers room because it was moldy inside.

The room was very damp my clothes were damp, to the point they started smelling. The room had no centre ceiling lighting and I have a lighting condition with my eyes. I could not see properly very poor lighting. After a few days breakfast became boring, the same thing over and over again. They was no effect made to replenish the herbal tea. I was very disappointed.

Amazing staff, beautifully decorated hotel with loads of local art. Breakfast was voluminous and reflected local traditions and offered many options. It was great to be able to sit outside on a verdant patio in the shade with a breeze. Pool was beautiful. A/C room controllable. The only thing that was not perfect was the clear evidence of mildew/mold on the edges of the shower and shower nozzles. It's very easy to clean with vinegar in my experience. Not sure how it is missed. My colleagues mentioned the same.

I don’t think the hotel can really be considered a 5‑star property. The staff is good, but the hotel needs maintenance, especially the air conditioning. Also, the bathroom cleaning needs improvement — there are areas with mold. In any case, the stay was pleasant. Breakfast was good, and the customer service and security are impeccable.

The most amazing thing about The Wish Hotel Bahia is the staff. We checked in with two reservations—a single night via Expedia and a week with our timeshare. In an attempt to honor our request for an upgrade from a standard room, Rafael appointed a bellman to show us several options. The day after our arrival was Easter Sunday and much of the city was closed for the holiday. Henrique’s—who was an absolute delight for our entire stay—searched the internet for museums and other venues that could occupy our day. He recommended restaurants, gave us walking directions, advised us on how to stay safe, and checked on the status of our time in Salvador everyday that he was on duty. As first-time visitors to Salvador, these interactions were invaluable to us. There are two restaurants—the one closest to the bar leaves much to be desired. We didn’t try the other, but it has great reviews. The bed was very comfortable, and our three issues with the room concerned the military school that performed drills sometimes as early as 6:45am., the shower—which was a nice size, had a shower head that only pointed toward the floor and water pooled nearly an inch deep in the back of it that had to be swept toward the drain.

Nice for a short 4 day vacation - friendly staff and the room itself was nice - more a 3 star experience. The spa and pool were nice - I had a lovely massage and spent some time in the pool, which was small but welcomed after a long day of exploring Salvador.

We had a wonderful reception and service at the front desk from Raphael. Always greeted us with a smile. Our room (premiere) was comfortable. King bed was medium (not soft & not firm…we would prefer firm but that is personal choice. Breakfast was decent. Lots of options. Coffee could improve. We were offered a later check out which was helpful and the hotel stored our luggage for the afternoon.
