What a truly exceptional hotel! You can tell what pride the staff take in making their guests feel welcomed and comfortable. Francisco especially went out of his way to give recommendations and help with all aspects of my stay. Great location, an easy 5-minute walk to the main train station and cathedral (thanks to clear instructions provided by the hotel in advance). The rooms are cozy, very clean, and very comfortable. And the breakfast buffet is the best I had on my multi-city trip! I’d stay here again in a heartbeat!

My stay here was delight from start to finish. All of the members of staff I interacted with we exceptionally friendly and kind, the breakfast in the mornings was varied and excellent all around, the room was well equipped and perfect for one person. Additionally, the hotel is conveniently located to the main train station and key sights in the city. Can only highly recommend if you are going to be in Köln!

Fantastic hotel in the heart of Cologne. We stayed in the family apartment. It was perfect for our family of four. The staff at the hotel went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcomed. Also, the breakfast is to die for!

Very good stay in this hotel, all the staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is extensive and very well presented. The bed was super comfy and the bathroom facilities were very good. No hesitation in staying here again.

A cosy boutique hotel walking distance from the main railway station and cathedral. Very comfortable room, wonderful breakfasts, and exceptional staff.

I had a wonderful stay at this small boutique hotel. The staff were all wonderfully friendly and very helpful (even when I was completely clueless haha). This was my first solo international trip and they couldn’t have made me feel more at home in beautiful Köln. I sincerely look forward to my next stay at the Stern am Rathaus.

Excellent stay at the Stern Am Rathaus. Centrally located with close walking proximity to the main train station, cathedral, shops and restaurants. Excellent staff including Ingmar, Francisco, and Clare were all wonderful. Highly recommended, great service!

Excellent place to stay in cologne

This was a lovely hotel in a great location. Easily walkable to anything you’d want to see in Cologne. The staff was absolutely amazing. Francisco and Kai were friendly and attentive. My family and I traveled throughout Germany this vacation, visiting 8 cities and my stepson declared Cologne to be his favorite stop - no doubt due to Francisco and Kai. We can’t wait to return!

This is such a wonderful hotel! Ingmar and Andy were so wonderful and welcoming! They really go out of their way to make your comfortable here, and Ingmar was so helpful with his tips. I was only able to stay in Cologne for one night, but I wish I could've stayed longer. There's a lovely breakfast offered, and I feel like this hotel makes a sincere effort at providing attention to personalized customer service! Location, service, comfort; this hotel has it all!

This hotel has the best location, it’s quiet, clean, comfortable, safe, and the breakfast was so delicious, beautiful, and had a wide variety of foods. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I couldn’t recommend this place enough!!

Stern am Rathaus A small hotel well located, near the cathedral, the Ludvig Museum, the Philaharmonic, and the train station. Friedndly staff eagar to help are available from 6 AM to 6 PM. There is NO ELEVATOR, There is no electrical outlet near a mirror. the first floor is one floor up. The breakfast is on the ground floor and is excellent. The room is small, clean and well appoiiiiinted. The TV is small and there is only one channel in english. Very expensive for what you get.

Ein kleines gemütliches Hotel mit familiärer Atmosphäre. Super freundliche und hilfsbereite Mitarbeiter und ein traumhaftes Frühstücksbuffet. Sehr schnell vom Hbf aus zu erreichen, die Innenstadt und viele Restaurants und Museen sind in Laufweite. Trotzdem ist es nachts sehr ruhig, da das Hotel in einer kleinen Seitenstraße liegt.

Wow, I haven't stayed in a hotel with this level of convivial service and welcoming atmosphere since "the before times." Andy, the proprietor, is truly a gem, someone who clearly loves their job and does it with kindness and care. The rooms are spacious for a standard size, and everything is thoughtfully designed, even if the aesthetics are a bit utilitarian (though this is Cologne, there aint much of the pre-war grandeur left). The breakfast is bountiful and cookies are on offer all hours of the day. I didn't know what to expect from our Cologne weekend adventure, but I can tell you it was delightfully influenced by the loveliness of the folks at Stern am Rathaus.
