Really great staff and an excellent breakfast: a huge choice, beautifully presented

You MUST stay here if you're visiting Cologne! 😊 This hotel is perfectly located—just steps away from all the major sights and attractions. It backs onto a charming square filled with shops, restaurants, and cafes, and it's right next to the historic City Hall, giving you that authentic Cologne atmosphere right outside your door. Our room was clean, quiet, and very comfortable—exactly what you want after a long day of sightseeing. But what truly made our stay memorable was the incredible staff. We had the pleasure of interacting with Francisco and Kai, both of whom went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Their customer service was outstanding—no request was too much, and they always greeted us with a smile. Breakfast was another highlight! A great spread overall, but the made-to-order omelettes were especially delicious and worth waking up for. All in all, this hotel was a perfect home base for our time in Cologne. Highly recommend, and we would absolutely stay here again!

Great central hotel with really helpful staff, would highly recommend

We loved our stay at Stern am Rathaus. Andy, Francisco, and Kai were very nice and helpful throughout our entire stay. On our first day, Andy went above and beyond to give us some great recommendations on things to do around Köln. The entire staff was friendly. Hotel was very clean, breakfast was great, location was GREAT! Will be staying here again on our next stay.

What a truly exceptional hotel! You can tell what pride the staff take in making their guests feel welcomed and comfortable. Francisco especially went out of his way to give recommendations and help with all aspects of my stay. Great location, an easy 5-minute walk to the main train station and cathedral (thanks to clear instructions provided by the hotel in advance). The rooms are cozy, very clean, and very comfortable. And the breakfast buffet is the best I had on my multi-city trip! I’d stay here again in a heartbeat!

My stay here was delight from start to finish. All of the members of staff I interacted with we exceptionally friendly and kind, the breakfast in the mornings was varied and excellent all around, the room was well equipped and perfect for one person. Additionally, the hotel is conveniently located to the main train station and key sights in the city. Can only highly recommend if you are going to be in Köln!

Fantastic hotel in the heart of Cologne. We stayed in the family apartment. It was perfect for our family of four. The staff at the hotel went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcomed. Also, the breakfast is to die for!

Very good stay in this hotel, all the staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is extensive and very well presented. The bed was super comfy and the bathroom facilities were very good. No hesitation in staying here again.

I had a wonderful stay at this small boutique hotel. The staff were all wonderfully friendly and very helpful (even when I was completely clueless haha). This was my first solo international trip and they couldn’t have made me feel more at home in beautiful Köln. I sincerely look forward to my next stay at the Stern am Rathaus.

Excellent stay at the Stern Am Rathaus. Centrally located with close walking proximity to the main train station, cathedral, shops and restaurants. Excellent staff including Ingmar, Francisco, and Clare were all wonderful. Highly recommended, great service!

Fabulous boutique hotel situated near thevCologne Cahedral and very close to the Rhine River. Their breakfast is very varied and delicious! They cater to all types of travelers with different dietary needs. Any time they help tourists with directions and suggestions that are unique and great!

This was a lovely hotel in a great location. Easily walkable to anything you’d want to see in Cologne. The staff was absolutely amazing. Francisco and Kai were friendly and attentive. My family and I traveled throughout Germany this vacation, visiting 8 cities and my stepson declared Cologne to be his favorite stop - no doubt due to Francisco and Kai. We can’t wait to return!
