Easy to get to main areas of Lyon. Comfortable but NO AIRCONDITIONING

Easy to walk into Vieux Lyon from here. This place was kind of hard to find but once we got there it was great. Great city view from front of property.

I am used to a campervan so having all the kitchen facilities and a safe suited me perfectly. The double bed was wide and firm. It wasn’t possible to have a cleaner for the six nights we stayed and I enjoyed the sense of privacy that allowed. The downside was that I had to run the hoover and put the rubbish out myself. Best to bring a dish towel and a kitchen sink plug too because you don’t want the dish-washer on all the time. Some reviews say the Residence needs an update but I enjoyed the slightly retro feel. The cloistered corridor was charming especially with the perfume from the trees outside floating in. I am in my seventies and found the hill manageable though my calves hardened up after two days climbing it. Metro La Croix Paquet, at the bottom of the hill, feels closer than the recommended metro stop of La Croix-Rousse. There’s a traboule just across the road! We had biting insects flying in at night in April - mozzie screens would be the best update for me. I would use the Residencia Villemanzy again.

Great hotel, very central location. Bit of a hill to get to it. Overall really liked it 😃

Honestly It would have been ok if it had air conditioning. I was sweating like crazy. I could not open the windows because the first night I was eaten alive by mosquitoes. That elevator needs to be fixed...looking at the other reviews it's been broke for some time.

Loved the room and views. Long walk uphill from train station.

THE ELAVTOR WAS BROKEN. I HAD TO GO UPSTAIRS TO FOURTH FLOOR WITH MY BACKACHE. THE FLOOR IN THE BEDROOM WAS NOT THAT CLEAN!

Beautiful location. Excellent front desk staff. It is up on a hill so all treks on foot are a good workout, but nothing extreme.

Very clean, friendly and efficient. Visitors should be aware that access by foot is likely to involve managing steep hills

Overall a great smooth stay. Highs: The views over the city The staff communication and friendliness. The room was good size Comfy beds Location is up a hill but not an issue Close to main areas Lows: Sadly bathroom hadn't been cleaned and shower was dirty. Dishwasher was full and not cleaned Hot rooms even with windows open. However the above didn't really effect us. Would stay again.

It was a very clean and comfortable place. I stayed for two nights and well enjoyed my residence.

Sofa bed was a camp bed. Worst bed in my life. Wireless was not working in half the room. I had problem with my safe and I had to call 4 times to get it unlock. Finally the phone was not working.

Nice hotel, well located, great service

Everything was fine until the Sunday night techno-music concert. We were not informed and had to get up at 4:00 am to catch a plane. Not a good night’s sleep. Everything else was good, including breakfast. Mercí encore.
