For the price and location, highly recommended. A bit dated, but it’s a traditional, old building. What makes this hotel, is the warm, friendly staff. Only criticism, maybe clean up the side of the hotel, leading to the rear car park a bit. It’s a bit dingy, floor is slippery and cigarette butts all over. Small change to make it more appealing.

Beautiful grand building full of character and Christmas charm. Staff were polite throughout the whole trip. The lovely house keeping lady on floor two was so friendly to us, especially my 7 year old. Smiley and helpful. Lovely stay.

Easy walking to Harrogates many attractions. Lovely Large room with walk in shower as requested. Sofa and space! Every member of staff we encountered was courteous and friendly, they all seemed to enjoy being there! Buffet breakfast choice was excellent. Recommend prebooking you car parking as it makes life so much easier-even asked if we were a long or short car to place vehicles sensibly. When we are next in Harrogate we will look to book again.

Lovely large room with window onto Parade Route! But very strange that there was no place to put non-hanging clothes and only one small shelf and one hanging hook in large bathroom! Perhaps new sink and shower was completed but upgrade not completed! New Years Eve dinner was nice but music was horrible! Such a wonderful place should have someone know that few solitary electric guitarist/singers could engage an audience of 200+ adults many of whom might be the age of the singer's grandparents. Performance without audience participation is strange for New Year's Eve events. The emcee was dressed like they walked in from a boat. Many folks left to go to other rooms. Hotel is historic and gorgeous. Breakfast was very nice. Something was very off with executive room upgrades and the special New Year's Eve event!

Good location, good value

The room was very dated . I ordered 2 coffees in the lounge and waited 40 mins then had to go to remind the staff , when the coffees arrived they were not very nice. The noise from other guests talking from about 3.00 am was annoying. The breakfast was a let down as it was Luke warm and tasteless.

Room very hot even with radiator turned off and window open, pillows not comfy. Stayed as at a friends party in Harrogate so convenient. It’s an ok hotel, wouldn’t like to stay more than one night.

The building, staff and amenities where outstanding, we did go for a basic room but it met our need and was comfortable and tidy. The staff were friendly and helpful I can’t fault them. The building is outstanding the share vastness of it must take some upkeep and the place looked amazing with open lounge areas beautifully decorated.

Fantastic location

Used premium breakfast room. Excellent service, good menu choice . Food was high quality . Room large & spacious. No instructions for tv remote or explaining wifi connection did not require a password . Found out by chance,

Room 269 was small and the bed against the wall never helps if your a couple. Room really suits single occupancy.The room was very warm and we had the fan on all night. But we do paid a ridiculous rate so it was well worth it. Breakfast was very good as was dinner. Lovely staff.
