Very nice room. You have to walk up a short steep incline from the parking lot to the front door and then go up narrow staircase to get to the room we had. Very nice breakfast room and friendly staff.

Character home with usual character quirks. Although clean with large room, it needs some TLC. One of the TVs didn’t work. Window crank was rusted closed and window had to be helped to open. Very dated (70s). Property is in residential area so quiet except for staff at 6am preparing for the day.

Stayed many times. Always a pleasant experience.

The room was ok. It felt clean…until we opened the fridge and there was what looked like the remnants of a hospital tray left in there…someone’s half eaten lunch. Which hey, things get missed, and we didn’t really need the fridge. The bed was comfy, the air conditioning was not. Very loud and not cutting it. It was a humid night though, and this is an old home so we just chaulked it up to that. At breakfast, things just kept getting worse. The cook was late so after 45 mins of sitting in the dining room, my husband left for work as he couldn’t wait any longer (could have taken the hospital sandwich I guess!). Later I returned to the dining room for my 2nd attempt at bf, it was full so I ordered it to my room. I will say that it didn’t take too long before a knock came to the door. A decent tray of breakfast left, too bad there were no utensils to eat it with or anything to sweeten the coffee. The place has a certain charm, but it’s missing on the details. It wasn’t absolutely terrible, but it wasn’t great either.

The property was clean and the staff was excellent. Breakfast was generous.

Leaside Manor is conveniently located—about a 30-minute brisk walk or a 15-minute bus ride to downtown St. John’s. It’s tucked away in a quiet residential neighborhood, and I felt safe walking around, even in the evening (though there was some occasional motorcycle noise at night). My room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent every morning, and I really enjoyed chatting with other guests at the shared table. The staff were incredibly kind and accommodating—more than I expected, really. I would absolutely choose Leaside Manor again when I return to St. John’s!

This is a beautiful character manor with charming period furnishings. The staff were so helpful with my requests. The full Breakfast was fresh, delicious and served in a large dining room where we could interact with other guests. I would definitely recommend this place to others.

Interesting room

Highly recommend, very quaint hotel, comfortable bed, excellent breakfast and wonderful service. The only reason I gave 4 stars was because I booked a suite and they changed my room to an inside smaller room and the hotel would not refund the difference in price.

The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, accommodating. Such a treat to be greeted every morning with a smile and a beautifully prepared and presented hot breakfast. Ample parking and very easy access to this historic Bed and Breakfast.
