The staff and location were the highlights of our stay but the Connaught Lodge is tired and needs refurbishment. Bed was clean and comfortable but the furniture is drab and the bathroom cramped. Good quality toiletries provided. Had issue with key card and getting into my room which was not resolved so glad only stayed one night. They advertise free parking but only if you book direct and the price matching offer on their website was not available when calling hotel so better to use booking agent as hotel is not worth the advertised rate on the hotel’s own website. Would not return as disappointed with Bournemouth as a town which has rapidly gone downhill since my last visit about three years ago. Not a safe place to walk around now.

The location is excellent to access the town and the beach. The spa facilities were good but the jacuzzi wasn't working. The food was good but not much of fruit options. The dinner prices were expensive. The room was cleaned, quiet and I could rest.

Decent hotel large bed and room with a big tv. Air conditioning a huge plus. Downside was front desk clearly having our available but not letting us access it until 3 pm unless we paid extra £30.

Beautiful hotel in great location, room I had was comfortable & spacious for a single room but great to see it was a large single bed so plentiful for me being 6ft 4 tall. Good wifi..sometimes collapsed but came back quickly. Would stay again, this time couldnt experience spa & pool because of achilles injury.

The property where reception is is beautiful. There is a garden thats peaceful and attractive. The staff are very welcoming and very helpful. Only thing that let it down was the room. No labelled shampoo or conditioner or even hand soap/gel. We had to buy this. The bed wasn't to my personal liking, the materess was hard and the bed was too high for me being 8 months pregnant was hard getting in and out but perhaps that part is just because i am pregnant. However, overall, i would recommend this hotel to other guests as everything else was perfect. The spa facilities were amazing too.

Great place to stay when wanting to be close to the beach, short walk of 10mins. Beautiful little garden in centre of hotel. Swimming pool etc facilities were good enough for the time we had. Polite and helpful staff, especially at breakfast. Only downside is could do will a refurb as bit dated, or at least replace carpets as smelt musky around the hotel and corridors, and room. Other than that i would visit again

Unclean carpets, hallway, staurs filthy. Room smelt. Stayed in a Jnr suite!!! A small room with a bizarre corridor and filthy smelly room attached to it that was only fit to store suitcases! The sofa was filthy!!! Free parking, not available due to a wedding party taking every available space! Never would i stay there again, more hostel than hotel!!

Really disappointed, I paid to upgrade my room...what a terrible mistake Safe didn't work TV remote didn't work Kettle lid fell off Shower was garbage Communal hallways and landing is disgusting, at best 2* Health Club? That is a dump! Gym equipment, at least 20 years old.... jacuzzi had hardly no power jets, Positive is all the staff are lovely, apart from Maria the duty Manager who was supposed to contact me with my stay issues, how strange to this day I've still not heard from her....

The staff were great and breakfast was delicious. The rooms and building itself was well kept & clean too. The WiFi worked great and the location was fabulous with access to plenty of pubs, shops, places to eat & of course, the beach! For me, the room was way too warm (radiators were not on) and the beds didn't have top sheets so I struggled to sleep. However as we were leaving we spotted what may have been Aircon so I wish we knew about this sooner. It'd also be lovely to have a mini fridge or shampoo. We also struggled to sleep due to noise from other hotel guests, though this isn't really the fault of the hotel. The carpark was rather difficult as the spaces were small so numerous vehicles parked over 2 spots and many more had to park over the white lines. My dad did his best to park in the lines (in between 2 who hadnt) and so spent a lot of time stressing about whether his car would get scratched or damaged.
