Beautiful hotel. Near the center. On wide street. Wonderful courtyard and facilities. And they accept pets! I've stayed here a number of times. It is always a nice stay!

This is a Meson not a hotel, it was fine but does not have the commodity of a hotel. The room was fine, rustic, with fireplace since they do not have heaters, they do not have phone in the rooms, nor hair dryers, the bathroom was ok but the towels were too old and rough (bring your own). Safety is an issue because even they close the main entrance door, they turn off the lights of the halls and patio and the room doors are very weak, so if someone gets in there you won't be able to call anyone since they do not have phones and there is no security. If you want coffee you have to go to the reception area. It's ok for the price but maybe you can get something better for the same price.

The hotel has a very nice courtyard, which was nice because we have a puppy, a nice place to sit in the sun with her. Also, the rooms have fireplaces and they provide wood, which is good because there are very few hotels in Mexico that have heat of any kind. The rooms were spacious and decorated traditionally, quite lovely. Breakfast was coffee and sweet bread, if you want a bigger breakfast, go to the town square, which is only a couple blocks away.

Everyone at the hotel couldn't have been more welcoming and pleasant. The room was SO cozy and comfortable- more like a small chalet or cabin. Don't miss the breakfast buffet: Delicious, handmade, homemade local dishes served with love.

We stayed in a one of the two story rooms and found it perfect for our needs and certainly large enough.( room #3) I like the area, though you have a bit of an incline to walk to the center of town, and it's a few minute walk. It was very clean and well appointed. We really liked having a patio area outside our room for our mornings and cocktail hour. ( bought our own beverages) They do serve a continental breakfast and we noticed some people were able to order egg breakfasts as well, though we never did. Morelia is a very lovely city, one I'd easily return to. The museum of candies has an excellent tour, though some Spanish is helpful. I think it would have been worth it even if we had no Spanish language ability. We visited museums and churches, had good meals, and I absolutely love the architecture there. Too much to see in 5 days, which is a good thing since I'd like to return! One restaurant I recommend is Lu C's up on Madero right near the main cathedral. The chilies with walnut sauce are divine.

I enjoyed this lovely hotel more than anywhere I've been in a long time. It's in the typical Hacienda style, on the rustic side, just what I personally love to find in a rustic town like Patzcuaro. My husband and friends and I rented a car and took drives around the lake to some of the smaller town, and I highly recommend doing that. We went to a mescal distillery,Mezcal Palomas Mensajeros, found the best mask maker in Tocuaro,Felipe Horta, son of Juan Horta. and found a really great restaurant in Quiroga, El Rey de Carnitas. I'd say the only downside to Patzcuaro is that in the years that have passed since we visited there, there are far too many small buses( and cars, in general) in town. However, when we drove around the lake, we did not find this to be so on the roads. Still, Patzcuaro is a wonderful place and we plan to return. Literally everyone we spoke to on the street and in shops and restaurants were so helpful and friendly. ( I'm sure, speaking some Spanish is helpful, but more important, being polite in return is more important.) If you like typical charm, rustic but clean and well appointed digs, you too will like this charming Meson.

Staying at Meson San Antonio is like stepping back in time. It is a truly special and unique place in the world. The owners are friendly and treated us like family. We wanted to stay longer. Do yourself a favor and experience this historical gem in the heart of Patzcuaro.

Las fotografías de jardín no corresponden a la realidad. Falta mantenimiento a Jardin, pasillos.
