This was our second time staying at Wyndham Rio Barra. Our first experience in August 2024 was very positive, which is why I chose to book the hotel again for our family vacation. Unfortunately, this time was a major disappointment. The room we were given was outdated, with missing furniture and an overall unpleasant appearance. I addressed the issue with the front desk, but they repeatedly said there was nothing they could do beyond the room category I had booked—despite the fact that the room clearly did not meet the expected standard. The following day, I spoke to the front desk again, and they moved us to another room of the “same category.” While slightly better, it was still far from ideal. The shower floor was clogged and ended up overflowing, adding further frustration to our stay. I once again asked for a room change or a solution to improve our experience, but they insisted that the only option was a paid upgrade. This situation was not our fault—the room was simply not fit to accommodate any guest. Although I love the area, I do not plan to return to this hotel.

Muy mala experiencia, no recomendable…..Al hacer check-in la habitación asignada no tenía electricidad, luego me dieron una habitación sin las camas necesarias. Se tardaron 1 hora en entregarme la habitación. En la estadía el hotel es muy sucio, olor a humedad y desayuno malo. Me tocó perder mi dinero de la estadía e ir a otro hotel Finalmente, de la cadena Wyndham sólo tiene el nombre, no cumple los standards de otros hoteles Wyndham en los que me he hospedado.

Our stay at Wyndham Rio Barra was a complete disaster from the moment we arrived. Check-in took over three hours—and I’m not talking about waiting in line. Once we reached the front desk, the process dragged on endlessly with disorganization and confusion. When we finally got to our rooms, we were shocked. The rooms were filthy, moldy, and clearly not cleaned properly. The smell of dampness and visible signs of mold were everywhere. We had over five rooms booked across our family and all were in unacceptable condition. We immediately contacted the front desk, asking to be moved to a renovated room. Instead of resolving the issue, they tried to charge us extra while we were already suffering in these awful rooms. After staying in those conditions, many of us began experiencing coughing, shortness of breath, headaches, and general illness—likely due to the mold and poor air quality. Only after we escalated the issue, demanded a higher-level manager, and mentioned filing a formal complaint with the sanitation department, did they finally move us to renovated rooms. The manager who handled it was kind and tried to help, and we appreciated that—but by then, we had already gone through days of stress, discomfort, and sickness. This experience was completely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one carrying the Wyndham name. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Cleanliness and guest health should be a basic standard, not a luxury. Give a good thing the room are big and .

Property seemed ok online, but the rooms are outdated, bathroom full of mold, doors were broken, AC was leaking, the room had a funky odor, the bed felt wet all the time, balcony door did not close. Security on the property was nonchalant with the homeless boys attacking guests to sell sweets late at night 😕

I stayed in a few other places in same area. Need to invest into updating rooms. Shower was moldy and rust on shower doors was concerning. I will be back every year but hopefully you take care of the rooms which is way more important than the pool. Everyone is in a room but not everyone uses the pool.

This was by far the worse experience I ever had. From the deity walls, mirror and shower to the bedding and even shade lamps - mattress and pillows with dirty stains, the rudest staff I ever met to the point of the hotel manager trying to gaslight me to the fact that my son didn’t get a tollway bed despite being advertised that way. The room was supposed to accommodate 4 and only did 2. I had a broken fridge and had to literally argue to get moved to a different room where it was downgraded version to my room and was juts lightly cleaner. I was juts so exhausted by then I simply didn’t have any more energy to advocate for us. The hotels are not equipped for our blow dryers etc and they do not give you adapters they sell for $50 8 times the price down the street. Is price gauging around the corner for a place that feels at the most a two start/ hotel. It’s very sad to see this property let go this way. I would like a refund or credit because this hotel should not be in Expedia - it doesn’t meet its standards. I tried red the photos and it is simply not that. I have photos to prove.
