Riad Manissa was pretty much the perfect choice for our stay in Marrakech. We had about 3 nights, and wanted to be in the medina. The Riad is on a quiet lane in the medina, but near by to everything you want to see or go to. The price point for a double room (1 queen bed) is good, and the service from all staff is great. From an amenity standpoint, they have a dip pool, a terrace, a breakfast area, and a small couch to sit on. We ate breakfast once, and that was it as we spent most of our time out visiting places and enjoying outside restaurants. For people who need assistance, I would request a first floor room. I didn't know they had them before I checked it.

The location is great, walking distance to pretty much all of the main attractions in the Medina. However, getting there by taxi cab be a problem, so you should either walk or take a tuktuk. In addition, I'm not sure the riad is trying to save on electricity bills but then basically never turned on their lights, which is both a tripping hazard because you just can't see where you are stepping, but also fails to make the place feel cozy. It was also very cold indoors. There weren't any activities at the riad either, which is a pity. The night staff was great and always helpful and willing to help, but it shocked me that I had to go out in the middle of the night to buy water because they just didn't have any (to sell), which confirmed my suspicion that they used tap water for the tea and the (instant) coffee (which is also a health risk for guests who are not used to it and could well get sick), as I could hear them in the kitchen preparing it. On that note, what's with the butter rationing? They wouldn't serve you butter unless you asked for it... It's also important to mention that the bathrooms only have a saloon door, so no privacy (I had to use the shared bathroom on the first floor, which is the only one that has a door). Overall, not a bad place but lacking in consistency and management seems to have lost interest to make it appealing.

We stayed in the room on their wonderful terrace, which was full of well tended plants. The hosts organized our airport transfer which was a major help. This is a deep casbah type location, which was in the center near the place and is suitable for those who wish that type of experience. The area was reasonably safe, the staff can arrange a variety of services from transfers to Essouriria to tickets to folklore concerts.

The staff were great, everything was very clean, location excellent however the bed was uncomfortable and the room was very draughty. The mornings and evenings were cold so the draught was unwelcome!

I loved this home away from home in the heart of the Médina. It was a bit tricky to find the first time but then I got the lay of the land and had no problem. The hospitality was warm, the room clean... I loved every moment!

We booked Expedia for our riad a long time ago. On the day of, I emailed the hotel to confirm the pickup from the airport, but the owner of the Riad said it was fully booked! We talked to Expedia, who arranged for another stay at another Riad. The owner of that riad said airport pickup would be arranged. However, no one was there to pick us up at the airport. We ended up having to get our own taxi. The owner said don't worry, she'll get a taxi for our airport departure... Guess what? No ride was arranged for us, and again, we had to find and pay for our own ride to the airport. Dishonest owners - beware!

Fabulous Riad, beautifully decorated. My husband and I had a wonderful stay. The managers and staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome, to meet our needs (such as food and drink even at the last minute request!). Thank you all so much! The food served at dinner (if you asked on the day to have dinner) was also better than many of the restaurants, and better price as well. After many hours of walking, to have dinner at the Riad was a real help! The location was also fantastic - so near to all the main sites and easy to walk to from the taxi drop-off. Would highly recommend to anyone to stay here. The only small negatives were the intermittent WiFi and a bit of noise from the street outside; we had earplugs with us so it was fine for us to not be too disturbed by it. We had the biggest room which was beautiful, I think the smaller rooms were quieter (according to other guests) but we would not have swooped our room as we loved it so much!

A nice, cosy Riad located within walking distance of the main square, Jama El Fna. Hospitality superb! Staff at Riad Manissa are very polite & welcoming. They demonstrate duty of care to their guest always! Staff will always go out their way to make you feel welcomed + very helpful in providing you with useful information when required. If you prefer to experience the more traditional lifestlye, then riads are the best places to stay. Cheap & good value for money. If you would like to exchange currency, recommendation is to visit Hotel Ali Exchange Bureau. No commission. You get the exact currency in return as per the daily exchange rate. Situated in Jama El Fna, Opposite the horse carriages

Dar Manissa is a relatively new riad; I believe there are a total of six rooms. It was very clean. Staff are very friendly, helpful, and fluent in English. Staying in a riad is completely different experience for me than staying in hotels. I really enjoyed staying in Riad Manissa. We had the key to the riad so that we could leave and come back any time we wanted. I was initially worried about accessibility of the riad because this riad is located in the medina where the roads very very narrow and winding and we had heavy luggage. Luckily, this medina is close to taxi service and bus stop which makes accessibility easier. Two wheeled push carts used to carry luggage from taxi stop to hotel for 20 dirhem (about 2 dollars)

I used this riad on October 27th. First of all, the hotel staff was very kind and made me feel at home!! Although I was alone, I didn't feel lonely at all the space was warm and relaxing :) And there was an earthquake, but there's no problem. The city was lively and had a lot of fun!!!

Grazie.

Nice hotel, nice staff, unfortunately the weather was not too good resulting in freezing at night as the heating in our room did not work. However, we immediately got additional blankets to warm us.
